Just a quick update. I've rang YBS yesterday and was told that they have now 20 working days turn-around on their applications.0
-
Phew! A big sigh of relief as finally funds has now appeared on my YBS account. It took 5 working days from the date it left from A&L account. I thought that it could have been longer I was getting a bit impatient. Well done YBS!
Now just need to make some research if I need to fill up my next years ISA allowance with them or open a fresh one who are offering an excellent rate.0 -
I'm not transferring to YBS, but Abbey. I phoned A&L today to request the transfer. Will let people know how long it took A&L to action the transfer and closure.0
-
I made the decision yesterday and went for a combination of Abbey for existing and Barclays for new money.
I would have preferred to keep in in all the same place but the Barclays offer was rather good.0 -
Chillum, I'm thinking about doing the same as yourself but not sure if Barclays accept NI customers. Will give them a call.
When transferring your ISA from A&L and you are faced with the question regarding the amount to transfer how does it work since A&L don't pay the remaining interest until the end of the tax year? Do I just ask to move the amount I can see in my account and A&L will apply the interest to that when transferring?0 -
Opened YBS account last night, called A&L today to initiate the transfer0

I haven't grappled with the whole interest from A & L.
From reading what others have written, the ISA transfer form I completed will be returned (thought i'd give it a shot anyway) but once I have the appropriate details and if my transfer request (via the form) is rebuffed, i'll get in touch with them to get the thing sorted out.
I haven't read the T & C closely enough regarding interest when closing/transferring your A & L account but I would have thought it would mirror other a/cs i.e. they close your account and pay you any interest that you have due to you.0 -

For all of you guys who moved to YBS eISA, will you contribute your full £3000 with YBS this year or open a fresh cash ISA with another lender with interest above 6%?
I suppose it depends on much funds you have with YBS. Anyway let me know what others think.
cheers0 -
I'm going to open a 6% ISA for 07/08 contributions.
That will work out better regardless of what balance you have with YBS.
YBS balance @ 5.65 + 3000 @ 5.65
or
YBS balance @ 5.65 + 3000 @ 6.000
