Not so cheap orange wednesdays

Orange Wednesdays means I can go with my other half to the cinema for half price.
I can also get a deal on a Tuesday as well.
The latter does not make the former a bad deal - it just means there are 2 good deals if you avoid weekends!
And if OP wants to be picky, OP has forgotten the 35p text charge from Orange making it an even worse deal ( in their opinion, not mine ) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I always find it facinating when people jump to being pedantic about a subject... I merely pointed this out to those who perhaps like me, make alot of effort to get to the cinema, on a wednesday rather than any other day to make use of the offer... only to establish that in fact there is no need- so not too sure whats so :rotfl:about that???
And yes, those are the prices we pay round here, maybe if you DID have to pay those prices you would be less:rotfl:and more
and would then perhaps see the benefit of me raising such a point0 -
Expensive cinema, My local is £3 for adults and kids from 12-5pm daily and you don't need to buy glasses they lend u them
Lucky you, im guessing you do not like in the south... they do not know the meaning of the word "lend" here, too interested in £ signs.
Last week even with orange wed and pizza deal it still cost £40 that means on an ordinary night it would cost roughly £80
£80 for cinema and pizza what is this world coming to!!0 -
Local Cineworld is £6.10 for an adult £5.40 a child in the daytime, £7.70 an adult, £5.40 a child after 6pm.
3d is £2.10 extra per adult and £1.50 for Kids, Family ticket is £21 standard or £26.60 for 3D, and 3d classes are 80p a set but we tend to take ones we bought before.
With prices that hight you can buy a few of the latest DVD films and stay at home, I know it's not the same but if you have kids at home is a lot more convenient. They do participate in Orange Wednesdays but it's still a lot for a family, especially if you then need to add in drinks / snacks etc that kids want.
I'm not trying to encourage or condone piracy, but at these prices you can see why people download the latest films to watch at home, although Cineworld does seem to be the HMV of Cinema, in terms af always charging top whack prices.0 -

The :rotfl: was to show that my point about the 35p was not to be taken too seriously.
But to get back to your main point. Maybe the thread should be headed "Why I failed to take proper advantage of Orange Wednesdays"
Let me explain:-
You say that you like to take your 3 children to the cinema regularly and then provided a price comparison that seemed to compare family days on Tuesday with Orange Wednesdays with ONE of the FOUR going free.
So why not get a 2nd PAYG sim free from Orange, put £10 on it and then you have TWO numbers to get Orange Wednesday tickets? That would bring the price down to under the Tuesday price. (Yes, it would take a couple of weeks to redeem the £10 top up outlay, but from then on you would be quids in)
So Orange Wednesdays could save you money after all.0 -
Not sure if all cinemas are like this, but at my local Cineworld you show the ticket guardian your ticket at the main entrance and then walk through to whatever screen you are on.
So you can buy a ticket for anything (ie cheap 2D film) and then walk into a screen showing something else (ie an expensive 3D film).
Not that I would condone anyone doing this. Not at all. I can just see that it would be possible for it to happen ... :A0
