Not so cheap orange wednesdays

Just noticed whilst looking at cinema times that they offer a super saver ticket and family ticket. I worked out that for me to take my children to see smurfs on ornage wed 3d it would cost just over £27.... a mere saving of £4 off the family ticket..

AND

If you went on tuesday the same ticket standard would cost £27...

So no longer the bargain I thought and even better go on the tuesday and it will be less crowded!

1 adult and 3 children on a Wednesday at 3.30pm with Orange code £27.

1 adult and 3 children on a Tuesday at 3.30pm (family ticket £28.80).

    Prices before 3D glasses.
It's wouldn't have not wouldn't of, shouldn't have not shouldn't of and couldn't have not couldn't of. Geddit?
  • Well it seems like the cinema in question is offering a good family deal rather than orange wednesday's not being worth it.

For this particular cinema for you circumstance, yes a Tuesday is better. But for example four adults going with orange wed's it would make a differance.

the prices at your cinema still look high - £9 per person plus glasses on top?

adult tickets at my local odeon are £7.70 and kids are £5.20 - so that still makes it £18.70 for your family using orange wednesdays

    It's dearer for a 3D film though.

birdy12 quoted £27 for the price excluding glasses

most cinemas charge slightly more for 3D films - so yes, i could understand it being £9 an adult with glasses included, but in birdy12's local cinemas case adults must be paying about £12 plus glasses fee, to make it £27 for tickets for one adult and two kids on a wednesday - which doesnt seem right, as even westend cinemas charge £14 a ticket, including glasses

I stand corrected. Wednesday's price of £27 would include 3 pairs of glasses (you'd still have to buy a pair for the person with the free ticket. Ticket prices, £9.60 for an adult, £7.20 for a child. I worked on the basis that the OP was taking 3 children.

    Tuesday's price still £28.80 but £32.80 with 3D glasses.

Obviously not cheap in my area.

Orange Wednesdays means I can go with my other half to the cinema for half price.

I can also get a deal on a Tuesday as well.

The latter does not make the former a bad deal - it just means there are 2 good deals if you avoid weekends!

And if OP wants to be picky, OP has forgotten the 35p text charge from Orange making it an even worse deal ( in their opinion, not mine ) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

My phone died and the jobsworth behind the counter wouldn't take it off my OH phone. So I paid my 35 p and couldn't use it.

Also the 3D add on you don't get BOGOF at Showcase and if there's a family of four it's their policy that they give the lowest price free. So it's cheaper for a family of four to pay for kids and adults separately. If you just have one code.Which is daft.
