..... but I parked on the road to avoid him getting the motor towed.

Who would do the towing. People can't just tow a car away, that would be theft. There needs to be signs up, and the towers need to be registered.

True, it would be a criminal act but try getting PC Plod to take action. "Its a civil matter Sir."

Just a quick point - surely it doesn't cost £10 for a BB? My council issues them free, and DfT currently authorise councils to charge no more than £2 although I believe this will probably go up from 2012 - in which case, assuming they are still good for 3 years I would advise applying this year!

Thanks, I thought it had already gone up. i will apply, but nontheless it will make no difference to this person, even with a badge displayed he will give me hassle, but I will deffo be able to sort him then

The issue is that the perceptions of disability, and the widening of the definition in the Equalities Act is at variance with the BB scheme as there is a duty to make reasonable adjustments to people without a badge, but that is being ignored,

The Blue Badge is now £10 although it is up to the council if they charge it or not. Mine never it was still £2.
I can understand the Jobs worth enforcing the bays to stop abuse but once they have been informed that you are disabled then they should make adjustments. Because they cant actually do anything about a BB being abused, then it would be perfectly OK for an able bodied person to park as long as they displayed a BB.
After all they are called disabled parking bays, not BB holders bays!

My disability was known to him from my first visit to the site, a good 12 months ago. Literally the BB is the sticking point, in his eyes I am a criminal, for daring to use a bay and try to reason why I did.

i confidently expect the ECHR to say there was NO breach of any duty or responsibility, they were wittering on about who I was visiting and for what purpose, as they reckon they should make an (impossible as visitor bays are first come first served) arrangement.

Actually It was the persons attitude that has upset me, no understanding no compassion just the robotic, you have broke the law.... A law that doesn't actually exist., well yet, just wait for the Freedom Bill if Mobilise have their way only the disabled in THEIR club will be protected This does nothing to help the hidden disabled, the ones who are sufficiently disabled, to get a badge but don't, the ones who are "protected" under the Equalities Act, have significant difficulties but are refused or fall below the bar for badge issue, yet still are badly affected day to day by a disability that has a significant impact, on their ability to do things able bodied people take for granted.
  • Hi everyone

Just a reminder to please just put people you disagree with on your ignore list, without replying.

If you feel something a person has said is abusive or they're a troll you need to report them to the Forum Team. Calling them names and swearing isn't appropriate, whoever you feel they are and actually just gives us more work to deal with meaning it takes us longer to get on with other things like the WOW factor etc.

    Thanks for your help!

Had a reply from EC they think there may be no discrimination as management agency were trying to fulfill their duty to keep the bays clear for BB holders, so anyone else in any category without a BB can go swivel. They did say it was opinion, but I don't think they are as independent as they would lke you to think. have they been brainwashed by Mobilise, or whatever they call themselves this week?

Was it the EHRC? You can complain about their 'advice'; they have a complaints procedure if you've reached the end of their attempt to help you:

    http://www.equalityhumanrights.com/footer/complaint-policy-and-procedure/

Reiterate that the Equality Act clearly says it's a breach if the service-provider 'knew or should have known' about the disability. He KNEW.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Idiots they are disabled bays not blue badge bays! By their argument anyone using any disabled facility would need to prove they are disabled.
