Just a word of explanation for those unfamiliar with the 'DTD' deal:
In Tesco stuff needs to go through the till at the wrong SEL price for there to be an 'overcharge'.
Question: It's no good telling the cashier at the till about the error, otherwise you'll find he/she has the power to correct the mistake at the till - then, of course, there hasn't been an overcharge, has there?
Answer: No, John.
So, when there has been an overcharge, take your goods and the receipt to the Customer Services desk, explain the error and then also explain that you want a DTD refund because you have been overcharged. Any problem with it at this stage and refer the CS assistant to the terms and conditions relating to an overcharge on the Blue Board behind him/her on the wall, where it says, "If we overcharge you we will give you back Double The Difference."
And if they ask how you know, cos some don't have a board, then do this:
(copied from an old post of mine)
With regards DTD, IIRC when you ring Tesco, and go for the pricing queries selection the message states "We apologise if you beleive have been charged incorrectly. Did you know you can take your receipt to the customer service desk instore, where you will be refunded double the difference..."
So put your stores 0845 number in your phone, and if they refuse DTD then get the CS person to use their phone (0845 from a mobile - no thanks!) to ring the number and listen to the recorded message - (option 3 then option 2 in my store). They can't really argue with that............0 -

Its still Greed -what about the poor people that may have only wanted the 2 or whatever the deal was-they go in and greedy people have taken 12 + to stuff theirselves with and then wonder why we are a nation of fat people .
If people were not so greedy there would be enough to go round !0 -
I've just finished my 12th lemon meringue pie. Only 12 more to go... Phew, good thing I'm typing this - it's the only exercise I've had these past two days, what with being a stereotypical lazy, fat slob as judged by somebody on the internet.:money:I'm not a friend of Martin's, I AM Martin. Just not THAT Martin. :money:0

I'm one of the poor people, hats why Tesco paid me to take 6 of them away.
And no I'm not fat, I'm 6"2 and 12 1/2 stone.
The reason we are a nation of fat people is people eat too much (of the wrong things) and don't excercise enough. Simple maths - calories in = more than calories out = gain weight. Reverse the sum to lose it.
It's nought to do with Lemon Meringue pies at tesco (well not yet, i've not eaten my six yet, depends how much excercise I do......)
We could blame all manner of governments for it, increasing house prices, cuts in education, social pressure for woman to work rather than be at home looking after the kids, Neccesity for both parents to work rather than be at home looking after the kids, the food companies advertising junk to kids, Watching TV rather than doing other stuff, not being safe for kids to play out so much, computer games, increased car use etc. etc.
However here is not the time or place for this debate - there is no point in being grumpy cos you missed the deal. As pointed out the SEL got removed when the first person in the store got the deal. I could have done the 6+ Tesco stores in my vicinity, but just did the one to allow others the chance.
So if you want to get these kinds of deal, you will have to be quicker to Mr T's, and maybe you'll get lucky on one of the next deals that pop up.

Brilliant, went into my local Tesco and behold, the yellow SEL showed £2.00 | 3 for £2.00
Went through checkout 3 for £5.00, got DTD with no quibble! The CS lady didn't even see the £1.00 taken off at the end of the receipt so I was refunded £8.00! Thank you Mr T for paying me £3 to take the goods home!
