Hi, hope it all goes well for you. Remember do we work to live or live to work? I know what I would do and think you are making the right choice..keep strong- here's another saying I love (and often have to remind myself)- what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

Hi Trudi, I thought I posted something earlier but must have a computer glitch!
I just wanted to say i think you are making the right decision - do we work to live or live to work? I know what I would do....
I'm sure you will be ok- here's another saying : 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' (I have to remind myself about that some days when things look bleak....)
Keep strong.

Forgot to mention - I spoke with my pub manager on Friday night
Explained my situation, and he said he would be more than happy for me to take on a few extra shifts, and to let him know when I want them and what shifts I want to work
He understands I'm looking for temp work, and that I'd be leaving when I find a permanent job. He even suggested that I apply for the trainee manager position that will be availbale in October, and gave me loads of work books that I have to have completed before I can apply (will mean a 25p per hour payrise too).
I feel like lots of good things are happening, just waiting for some bad things now to happen now. Oh wait, that'll be todays hangover!

Wow, congrats on the job at the pub, he must really think you can do it if he suggested it, and being a manager also means more money

I know what you mean about something bad happening when everything is good, but you can rise above any bad and move on, and the saying about what doesnt kill you makes you stronger is perfect. The bad has made me alot stronger and now i welcome it as i will always rise above it and know i will be stronger when its gone.PAD Maker0 -
First day back at work after a long weekend. Joy. Had decided Friday I would hand in my notice, forgetting that my line manager is on holiday this week. I have now found out that the director is not in on Friday either, so unless I resign by email, I can’t get my notice to either of them on Friday!

Not sure what to do now. I’m under the impression I can’t date it Friday and hand it to them on Tuesday (after Bank Holiday Monday).
Any ideas?
Was hoping to have a NSD today, but have had to buy petrol
although I have a tasty leftover lunch from last night’s dinner. Really looking forward to that! 0 -
Rugby tickets have arrived! Going to the London Double Header match next weekend. Another expense that will be. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now. Will have to watch my spending, and just buy what is essential – not what I necessarily want! Usually spend about £70 on the whole day out. Will reduce this to £40. It’s more than I can afford to spend, but its less than what I would have spent – little steps at a time.:j
If I change things slowly and slightly, yes it will take longer to pay off my debt, but I’ll be learning good habits that I’m more likely to be able to stick to. Like my weight loss. I changed something small every week, and now I’ve lost the weight, and have kept up the habits I learnt (e.g. drink lots of water, eat lots of veg, qua*ers instead of McC*ys crisps, etc) and so the weight has stayed off...Well the majority of it. I used to go to the gym which helped with controlling my weight, but cancelled it a while ago as wasn’t using it enough. I need to start exercising more – the mse way!
Have also realised, that the last-minute holiday we’d planned to take beginning of November is now not going to happen. My BF is not happy about it. We’d both been looking forward to getting away and now we can’t as I won’t have any guaranteed income. I feel bad he has to miss out due to my debt (and possible lack of job).

Good news with the extra shifts, you must be good as well if the manager position has been suggested.
For ebay if you're selling more stuff - free listing weekends tend to come up every other weekend roughly so they are worth holding out for
