A PUC code is a code used to unlock a phone so that it can be used on another network. You will need on of these as well if you want to keep your phone but you may have to pay for it.

Just to clarify - the PUK (not PUC) is not for unlocking a phone - it's for when you forget your SIM card PIN code and having put the wrong PIN in 3 times, you will need the PUK from your provider. Sometimes it comes with the SIM when you get a new one (printed on the card that the SIM snaps out of)
