Hi Lemon and Determined!
Thanks for popping in - good luck with the house Lemon and hope you're feeling better Determined?
Just had an interesting evening filled with texts from an old friend/boyfriend from when I was about 17 - very entertaining! There's life in the old dog yet!
Its like being a teenager all over again! Normal life will resume tomorrow!0 -
don't rush for normal life to resume, sometimes the surreal life is much better

Unfortunately its back to reality today - I've taken the dog to the park, srtipped the bed and washed the sheets, had a bath and a quick tidy round.
A fascinating day writing biology lessons to come!
Right better get on with it!0 -

Ooooh very exciting:D:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Well, I've had a very productive day and managed to write all the lessons I had planned and organise the files etc ready to go back to work.
I've only spent £4 today so not too bad.
I'm getting ready to go back to work now -only 1 week of holidays left - I think that I'm not cut out for a life of leisure - I get bored really easily and am always looking for things to occupy me. Tomorrow its GCSE physics - woo hoo - the theory of relativity for bored 16 year olds - looks like a fun day ahead! No other big plans - just getting ready for more visitors on Thursday.
I'm sticking to the meal plan well and even picked some blackberries this afternoon to bulk out the stewing apples I bought cheaply. Have stewed it all up and scoffed half - very nice!
Talking about food and losing weight - I'm going back to fat club on Tuesday evening - it will cost about a tenner to rejoin but it'll be worth it to get to see people I'd started making friends with and to lose that stubborn last 7-10lbs. I have an incentive - I'm seeing some old friends on Oct 8th and want to look as good as I can to prove that life goes on so starting tomorrow I'm back on the diet wagon.
So that's 5 or 6 weeks - surely half a stone is possible?:undecided
I'm now going to focus on me for a change - losing a bit more weight (bought size 10 jeans last week but could do with a teeny bit more flab gone to be happy), making more effort with my appearance (making sure nails are always done nicely, regular facial scrubs - not just when I remember once a month - making sure roots are done regularly etc) and not living in dog walking clothes when I'm not working:o.
I will NOT look like a middle aged 40 year old woman that's given up! So there!
I don't need to buy anything in particular to start this new regime - there are loads of partly used bottles of products hanging around the bathroom and bedroom so I have no excuse! So in the spirit of the new me I'm off to do my toenails - I have a new varnish colour that I've never used so now's the chance!0 -
have a look online you're bound to find a voucher to join for free, they're always around.0

Well done on yesterdays' achievements - that's a great list of completed tasks.
I'm with you re losing the weight. I've been trying-ish to shed a stone for about 3 years now. I lose half then somehow it all just creeps back on again. I'll be debt free within weeks & now determined to have reached my target weight by the end of the year - which is only about 17 weeks I think, so I'll accompany your efforts if you dont' mind ? I'm 43 (cant believe I just said that out loud) & in fear of becoming mumsy & matronly if I dont act now.
No silly diets here, just eating less & moving more

!
Eeek, is 40 classed as middle aged do you think?!!? I'm 40 in 6 months...I am soooo not ready to be middle aged, I'm young really:D
I think I'll join you with the pamepring thing, my nails need some varnish, toe nails are painted but chipped (classy;)). Hair is ok as I just use lightening all over spray. I always wear make up - don't want to scare anyone. But I don't find time to do nice pampering things.
I'm back at school on Thursday this week, but not Friday...then back to normality on Monday:(I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hi Pixie - 40 just sounds awful doesn't it? BUT, Lula is living proof that you don't just drop dead! I'm 40 at Xmas (what a lovely present!) so have a few months to combat the signs!
Anyone that wants to join me in my age defying mission is very welcome!
Thanks for the tip on a voucher Lemon Tree - it just didn't occur to me - I have the latest SW mag too, must have a look to see if there's anything in there.
God, I just realised how much of a minger I must sound! I'm not that bad really - I always wear make up to work and out and wash and do my hair everyday but I could be more 'groomed' if you know what I mean?
Just back from walking the dog - its flipping freezing out today:mad:
So just about to jump in the shower and will do a body scrub whilst I'm in there - I have a nice smelly No7 one that's about half used, I should make the effort to use these things once I've bought them!
I also started the Davina Ultralift 14 day wrinkle challenge thingy last night with a free trial sample - will I be 10 years younger in a fortnight? Hmmmm.... we'll see. My skin does feel quite soft this morning though. There's a £1 off voucher in teh pack too. I finished off my Sanctuary moisturiser yesterday morning and am trying to use up what's in before I splash out on a new one. I've always used Clinique or Clarins but am willing to try out the cheaper ones in the interest of moneysaving. We'll see how the trial goes before I buy.
Aiming for a NSD today - I don't NEED anything - have plenty of food and drinks etc in the house and have no plans to go anywhere so I have no excuse.
Right, I'm off to have a shower and beautify - I might be some time!0 -
i'm another who will be turning 40 within the next year, i think that's why i'm working my way through some things in my head as i want to have a life for the next 40 years, not just a meer existance.0
