Not strictly a Christmas film - GROUNDHOG DAY. It's set during Thanksgiving in the US (very early Feb) but i always watch it around Christmas, cos it feels as though it "fits" the season very well.
Lots of snow; funny and with a warm heart at its centre ("what would YOU do if you had to live the same day over and over again ...?" Bill Murray finds out that, eventually, it's focussing on other people and trying to do some good in the world that makes him happiest. Sounds like a Christmas message to me

I have to say, whilst my faves are Elf/Nativity!/Love Actually etc I quite like watching the crappy straight to TV (Usually American) Christmas films that places like hallmark etc play around this time of year :rotfl:Princess Sparklepants0

My Christmas film watching has began! Last night I watched my Love Actually DVD that has to be watched every Christmas at least and is one of my fave Christmas films along with Home Alone and the 1994 version of Miracle on 34th Street which has the real Santa in:) I think I'll watch one of these later too. I have also just ordered Jingle All The Way DVD from HMV, tho I may have got it for the same price at Tescos I can wait a few days and it adds to the excitement getting it through the post (maybe I do need to get out more!) I'm not too convinced about the tv movies, I don't think it has anything to do with it featuring actors I've never heard off, I just don't find them that good, tho I do have one on Christmas 24 now, 'A Christmas Kiss' so will give it a go lol (could do without the ads every 10 mins tho).0

We'll be getting started next weekend. I always put the Christmas films away in the roof so they stay 'special' and we get them out now so we can watch our Thanksgiving special (OH is american and they celebrate Thanksgiving this coming Thursday) 'Trains, Planes and Automobiles' - one of my all time favourites and although not Christmas this is seen as the start of the 'holiday' season in the States.
We also LOVE Elf, Home Alones and The Year without a Santa Claus with the Heat Miser and Freeze Miser. Love it! Our other big favourite though is 'A Christmas Story', just really fab in all sorts of ways. We've got The Nativity from LoveFilm this week so will see what we think of that. Oh, and I save The Snowman for nearer the big day and it makes me cry everytime.......0 -
I love the main ones mentioned but last year I ordered random under £5 Christmas films and got 'Christmas choir', brilliant film and amazingly it's a true storyBest wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

Another vote for Nativity. I think it is a bit under rated but so funny and a bit sad:santa2:0
