I love elf as you have already suggested, but Tim Burton's 'Nightmare Before Christmas' has to be one of my all time favourites!

Miracle on 34th Street has to be my all time favourite, but we also have Elf, Muppets Christmas Carol, Nightmare Before Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, The Snowman & Father Christmas (Raymond Briggs cartoons/animated films), How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Jingle All The Way, Santa Claus the movie, Holiday Inn & White Christmas (Bing Crosby) Home Alone and Mickey's Magical Christmas (Mickey Mouse). Beauty & the Beast - The Enchanted Christmas is lovely, but I'm not sure you can still buy it or whether it has been 'retired' by Disney.

More suitable for adults............Bad Santa (15), Love Actually (15) and The Holiday (12).

My 27 year old son is a film freak (can't you tell! LOL) but especially Christmas films. :rotfl:
  • I'm more into the adult movies LV Sue listed but agree Elf is good :-)

Definitely, without a single doubt, 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation'. Makes me laugh and laugh and laugh every time I watch it.
  • "Elf" is superb, so funny for adults and children alike. It's making me smile just thinking about it. The gift he bought for his father labelled 'for someone special' :D

"It's a wonderful life" is not for very young children but is uplifting and sad and funny all mixed up together.

"Home alone" is also a favourite!

Christmas isn't Christmas without Home Alone and Die Hard.

    It's August! Stop it!

  • My fav's are Home Alone 2, Santa Claus The Movie, Miracle on 34th Street and Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas!

However I just LOVE all Christmassy films and love the Movies 24 cable channel that show only Christmas films in December.....LOVES it I do!!
  • Yes -my kids love all the home alones. Last year we won a Santa paws dvd which is very cute too. What's that film where the neighbours out do each other with xmas lights and outdoor decs - deck the halls?

for us older ones, I love The Holiday... and not so Christmassy but highly entertaining is Jack Nicholson/Diane Keaton/Keanu Reeves in Somethings Gotta Give - giggles galore!
