Tonight, I've seen a thread where OS'ers are mixing Stardrops & Zoflora. I have added a warning to that thread and also, after searching to locate where the information was given, added another to the original thread.
I am starting a new thread for those who *won't* necessarily read either of those threads.
To save writing it all out again I shall quote myself:

Customer Care Instructions from the Zoflora carton clearly states:DO NOT MIX WITH OTHER CHEMICALSThese products are thoroughly tested *before* being put into the marketplace - to ignore the warnings is neither wise or advisable.
Mixing some cleaners is known to prove FATAL.
Even if the mixture above has no affect on your physical health ... does anyone who is promoting this mixture know, understand or have tested the long term effects on the materials they are using them on????????
I repeat again, Zoflora care information CLEARLY states:DO NOT MIX WITH OTHER CHEMICALS

Zoflora is also according to th feline advisory beaureau (sp?) toxic to cats. In fact all household cleaning products which turn a cloudy colour are toxic to cats. Here's the linkwww.fabcats.org/poisonsinthehome.html0

just wondering what it is that makes all cleaning products which turn a cloudy colour toxic to cats? I don't mean that in a negative way, but is there something in particular to all products that go cloudy that we should look out for?0 -
The cloudiness is caused, I'm fairly sure, by phenol based chemicals. It won't always say phenol on the ingredients list, you might see something that starts with benz... This link might explain a bit morehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenol ( The link by mentaljessie suggests this too and a lot of other cat-poisonous chemicals as well! )0

Your right rosy. Some years ago when my Mum worked for the local cat rescue, I read the FAB manual for rescue centres and was shocked by what i read, as much as i love the smell of zoflora it's banned in my house.0 -
I have a cat and I use Zoflora (well diluted). I don't use it on the cats bedding/litter tray or other belongings, I have a proper pet disinfectant.
Seems that many of the products in daily use around the home have the potential to be poisonous. I'm not so sure all cat owners would be able to completely iradicate all these products from their homes though
As with any and all substances, you have to follow the precautions and store them correctly to protect your pets and children - not to mention, yourselves!

As you are mixing cleaning products I'm going to post this again. I once found my Mum semi-consious on the floor in the bathroom due to toxic fumes after she mixed cleaning products.0
-
The link to the FAB also says lilies are very dangerous, possibly fatal, to cats.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

my mum always used zoflora mixed with water as a spray to freshen up where the cats have been
her cat died in november at the ripe old age of 21 and she still has a almost 13 yr old running around
i used the same idea on my hall carpet to again freshen and we lost our dear toots on tuesday after we had her put to sleep due to a enlarged tumor
she would have been 18 this april
we still have her sister
i dont think i would mix it with anything other than water because i dont think you need to infact i dont think i have ever mixed any cleaning materialsIf You See Someone Without A Smile......Give Them One Of Yours0
