Changing from Orange PAYG to contract ....
Options
and I would really like the HTC Wildfire S, I'm just deciding whether I should change my plan, I'm currently on Canary, paying around £15-20 a month on top ups, rarely use the internet etc, (I've got a pretty basic Nokia atm!) but I would want to use all the features on the Wildfire, but not a mad user of internet or e-mail, I'm confused (doesn't take much!), I would want the 300 minutes I think on Canary, I text quite a lot, but Dolphin includes the internet as well? I want to keep my monthly spend at £20 and stay with orange if possible!
Could someone please help me decide which plan to choose, many thanks!

Be careful of Orange's low internet allowances. If you do go with them or T-Mobile, you can get £121.20 cash back from Topcashback at the moment.
TalkMobile (Vodafone network) give a free Wildfire S on their £12-a-month 24-month contract (200 mins, 200 texts, 1GB internet), is that any good? £35.35 Topcashback too.
When you get a lovely Wildfire you'll probably use the internet lots, so don't take a low MB package in case you get hammered with charges.0 -

You should phone Orange - The chances are you will get a 10% loyalty discount for being a PAYG Orange customer also if you have any balance on your phone fund this will be taken off your monthly bills so you could end up getting a few months free line rental!:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21
June: £43.15/July: £51.22/August: £90.60/September: £29.75/October: £284.07/November: £171.08/December: £29.220 -

Thanks, yes I was wondering about that, I will be using more internet so don't want to be hammered for extra, I'll check out the Vodaphone one - looks good, but I feel nervous about moving networks!!! I've been with orange for about 17 years now!!!but £12 a month is excellent!

Yes I might get in touch with them - I have £27.50 on my phone fund so I should get something back seeing I can't use it towards this phone! Thanks for that!0 -

Talk Mobile also give an HTC Desire, which is better than the Wildfire, free on their £18-a-month 24-month contract (300 minutes, 1000 texts, 1GB internet). £45.45 Topcashback.
If you are worried about network coverage with Vodaphone, you could move to T-Mobile as they share Orange's network now. T-Mobile will give you a free Wildfire S on a £20.42-a-month 24-month contract (600 minutes, 500 texts and then you can choose 500MB internet as your free booster). £121.20 Topcashback cash back too.0 -
You're going about it the wrong way! Phone Orange and ask for your pac. Have a realistic deal in mind. You should be able to get the wildfire a 300 mins/ texts/ internet for £15/mth.0

From experience and reading posts on here most mobile companies seem to hand over PAC codes to PAYG customers quite easily and don't seem to do much/anything to retain the customer?:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

Lots to think about - thanks all!!!
Will have another think in the morning about what I am going to do - in my head now I'm wondering about network coverage seeing as it will be 3G and not just talking & texting as I live out in the sticks
, thanks again.

Ok, silly question alert!!! At the end of your contract does the phone then become 'yours' as such (see told you it was a silly question!), and then you can just choose who to have a contract with etc, do you give the phone back to them {confuzzled!!} Sorry!!
:embarasse
Thinking of going with the T-Mobile contract now, not sure if I'll use all the minutes/texts though now............. but I suppose it's better to be 'over' than 'under' than what you need???
My son now advises me that it's not an issue re signal coverage - with WiFi/broadband etc, it will work with where we are {is glad!!}, I'm really not up to speed on all of this lol.0 -
Yes, the phone is yours to keep or sell on.
Definitely better to have enough minutes as you then don't have to worry about big bills for going over.
Remember to go through Topcashback if you join T-Mobile for your £121.20!0
