When travelling as a couple do you 'split' your cases?

These days I tend to travel alone but when I had BF I occasionally put some of my stuff in his (usually on the return journey if I had bought shoes when we were in Spain).
I have always put spare undies, a t-shirt etc in my hand luggage - I also carry some laundry paper from Lakeland in my hand luggage too because if my case is lost I can at least wash what I have.0 -
Have done this for a few years, even when 5 of us holidayed together (me, hubby & 3 kids). We do this when just me & hubby travel together and I always make sure the toiletries & sun lotions etc are split between the number of cases as well as everything else. There are always shorts/t.shirts/evening clothes/swimwear & flip flops/shoes in each case.
I always have a change of clothes plus deoderant, toothbrush, toothpaste, mascara, eye liner and moisturiser in my hand luggage as well but hubby & kids don't do this...0 -
We always split our stuff, makes perfect sense0

I wear contact lenses, so I always put some in hand luggage, my case and partners case; it would ruin the holiday if I weren't able to see all holiday!0

We never did until Mum and Dad went to Paris and Dad's case was lost. Cost them a small fortune to buy everything. (Don't think he fancied wearing Mum's clothes :rotfl:)
They didn't get the case back until they came home and it was badly damaged!
We make sure we split now."If you want to feel rich, just count the things you have that money can't buy":j0 -
Always "split" when going by train or plane and take underwear & swimming costume in hand luggage.
When travelling by car & doing overnight stops, we keep a small case, and have other clothes in boxes (estate car) - we just put into the case what we need to take in to the B&B / hotel etc.
We also "split" our cards as all of our accounts are in joint names. One of us carries the main, pre-loaded, so no fees SAGA card, the other carries credit & debit cards that we'd prefer not to use, but could in an emergency. If we both carry all the cards, then one wallet or purse being stolen freezes all the others.0 -
always, just in case the worst happens ( never has but you never know)'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0
