When travelling as a couple do you 'split' your cases?

Out of interest when travelling with your other half or friends do you split your clothes half in one case and half in the other?
I have a fear of losing a case and trying to fit into my 6'2 OH's clothes!
We always split the cases, but when I tell other people they look at me like I am nuts!
I suppose if we lose both then we are up the creek!:)

We always split our clothes, we also take shorts, T shirts & swimming gear in hand luggage in case the suitcases go awry. Not stupid at all.Every day above ground is a good day.0

Another one who splits here. Always did, but after my last job which included dealing with baggage claims, I would strongly advise that everyone did, and takes a change of clothes in hand luggage.0
