I'm a home owner luvvie, I landed here looking for advice on mortgages a few years back. Am happily married and have been for quite some time now. I support my entire family on my own and pay hefty amounts in tax also. Perhaps you didn't bother to browse those particular posts, or mabye the one asking for advice on 'clicker training' my puppy in other areas of the forum ? So am not sure where your 'irresponsible breeder' stuff comes from tbh ? However, I was a single parent once yes ( through divorce ), and I also privately rented once yes. So sue me..yawn.

Not consistent with what you expressed in this thread though is it? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3077852 Only one example among many BTW.
    I'm not bitter,

    Really? You sound it.
I just have my own opinions on current affairs
Although as a frequent poster on MSE most of your posts seem to have a rent paying and loser slant.
I also run a ( rather successful ) large forum of my own, and have done since 2005.
IF that's true why do you spend so much time on here and if successful and loathing of landlords why not just buy a place? Could it just be more BS from you? You claim to be a home owner on this thread but aren't on others.
    I know a troll/angry little man/saddo/weirdo when I see one.
I'll bet your very knowledgeable on the subject, lol!
    No-one actually takes you seriously..
    unless they've read your posts!
Sorry for the off-topic reply everyone. Personal insults I can take.. but at least get the facts right first eh !
Statements of fact actually; https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3077852 Assuming you were telling the truth in this thread and not that one.
Ps I DID deny inspections. I was alone while my husband worked away, and breastfeeding a 6 month old child. The estate agency ( landlord didn't bother to tell us he had the house up for sale when we took on the tenancy )also thought it would be ok to show people round while I was there, even during feeds. I thought otherwise.
Just admit it you are a parasite, nothing more. Anyone who has read your posts will know anyway.

Parasite is a bit harsh for denying inspections when you have a 6 month old baby to contend with in your own home.

You may be used to the UK rules, and I know you see this from a landlord perspective of its "your house" but in some other countries inspections wouldn't even be allowed to happen regardless of circumstances.

If that was the reason for the remark I would agree with you.

I'm sorry. But you really do have it all wrong about my circumstances. You should apologise for your mistake and withdraw now before you cause yourself any further embarrasment. It's excruciating to watch..

I did not lie on any of my earlier posts, and I can't really believe you've spent time trolling through them. Normally I wouldn't stoop so low to actually have to defend my posting history. But since you've went to such great effort to 'prove' yourself right. Reluctantly, I feel it necessary to correct you. From the thread you highlighted ( note my oldest child now has his own flat which is why I mention 4 children and not 5 ) :-
Moved in on Thursday, day 1 myself and my 4 children, youngest 5 months old, we'd moved 200 odd miles and I'd arranged schooling for 3 of them to start on the Monday.
Day 2, estate agent at the door with a group of 8 viewers. I don't know who was more shocked ! The property was up for sale as well and had been for months...
...I allowed a viewing 2 WEEKS after moving IN because I didn't know any better.. taking myself and my ( breastfed ) baby out wandering about in the !!!!ing rain for 2 hours ( I didn't drive).. while I wondered what the hell I was actually paying £650 a month FOR ?
I soon wised up re tenancy law I can assure you. There were no more viewings.

You missed many others about my personal circumstances, just for future information.

I don't need to know your life story. Nor am I particularly interested in furthering any sort of 'personal' disagreement with you here. I run my own business. I didn't fall out of the tree yesterday.

So ? I had a baby at 17, council house blah blah.. had another 4 of them too over the years. I haven't claimed benefits of any sort for the last 20 odd years, and I've just paid a tax bill that would make your hair curl. Support all 5 of them ( plus hubby who's ill at the moment ) myself AND pay hefty amounts in tax.
You, and those like you, would have wrote me off as one of life's losers at 17. Don't do that..

I married the father ( my first husband) by the way. And there are a few posts with me helping out people with their own websites and comparing hosting fee's, talking domain name stuff with PasturesNew. I'm still not sure why you keep re-iterating that I'm a parasite. It's not justified, I've worked hard this year and just paid the 2nd half of my ( large ) tax bill off so I kind of resent that. We bought this house in 2009. I don't know why you think that I would possibly have to gain by lying about it ? I base all my posts on my own experiences, past and present.
I rather think I stick in your brain so much because I got the better of you on that last encounter on the forums. You should really try to move on from that now sweetie. And perhaps apologise for your dreadful attitude towards people you do not know anything about and the misassumptions you've made.

I also think you should let people get back to the topic in hand ( if we haven't killed it off by now ).:)

Ps I have time to spend browsing other forums, because I have the luxury of excellent moderators on my own.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

A judge has released a woman who was jailed for accepting looted shorts in what is thought to be the first appeal against a sentence over the unrest.
Ursula Nevin, 24, was jailed for five months in Manchester, but has now been ordered to do voluntary work.

Edited to say - that's very slopy writing. How the hell can you be "ordered" to do "voluntary work"? You can't!

Good to see, bottle of water next, then the facebook posters, I really can't believe that (what appear to be) the equivalent crimes can receive such disparate punishment.

"A 20-year-old man from Torquay, three men in their 20s from Newquay and an 11-year-old girl in Plymouth have all received visits by police and been given words of advice concerning entries on to social networking sites.
"None of the entries led to any disorder taking place."
The page, Plymouth Riot Save Are England from the Goverment (sic), was listed as an "event" and invited more than 400 people to take part in pre-planned copycat disorder on Tuesday outside the city centre's Poundland stor

Jordan Blackshaw, 20, from Marston near Northwich, and Perry Sutcliffe-Keenan, 22, from Warrington, appeared at Chester crown court on Tuesday. They were arrested last week following incidents of violent disorder in London and other cities across the UK.
Neither of their Facebook posts resulted in a riot-related event.
During the sentencing, the recorder of Chester, Elgan Edwards, praised the swift actions of Cheshire police and said he hoped the sentences would act as a deterrent to others.

How is evicting culprits and their families from their council homes going to help fix broken Britain? Does anyone have ideas for “restorative” measures—like requiring criminals to meet their victims and make good the harm they have caused?

However long custodial sentences will be (at taxpayers expense), at some point these people will be released back into society, at which point some of these offenders will have no chance or wish to be part of society.

According to one of the papers, the police are now looking for 30,000 rioters.

What was actually happening on those nights seems to have been badly underestimated by the media at the time (and we've only just heard about the guns). But that in itself is only symptomatic of how the middle classes have developed tunnel vision and learnt not to look or listen.

And where will we put all those prisoners? Cameron has promised to hunt them all down and bring them all to justice.

Didn't Harriet Harman try that, by sending people into hosptials?

The people in hospital didnt want it and were scared further. They stated at the time (majority anyway) they want these people to serve justice, not to meet them.

I've always stated, and believe I'm right, that most taxpayers would rather pay to have people behind bars, and would be quite happy to see money spent on building new prisons, than they would that money being spent on "social type services" looking at ever new ways which don't work, to avoid prosecuting these people.

Thing is, some in the UK believe our criminals are somewhat different and deserve some kind of different justice than all other countries. If anyone can tell me of any other country where liberal systems have been PROVEN to be effective as a deterrant to, and lower crime levels, then I'm all ears. Unfortunately, having asked this question several times, no one can come forward.

18-year-old accused of torching Miss Selfridge, although he had an alibi, finally released after 9 days in custody when the police finally accept they've got the wrong man.

Meanwhile, Blair says we don't have a moral collapse. But there are disaffected young people.

So what about us disaffected old people? We don't riot because we can't run fast enough, but we're out there in spirit. Why are we disaffected? Blair could consult the Mail, which reports that a man who was sacked from the Cabinet twice is buying an £8m house. That's the sort of thing that makes us distrust all those who're in charge of things and makes us feel this isn't the sort of country we want to live in. If that's authority round here, why does it deserve respect?

Who would shed a tear if Mandelson's new house got torched? What has that slimeball ever done to merit it?
