Beating Ryanair Card Payment Fees

I'm new to this site but I wanted to share this.
I have just gone to book flights through Ryanair but due to not having a pre paid master card I was going to be liable for admin fees up to nearly £20.
I have just booked the same flights through Travel Republic without the card admin fees. Just thought it was worth a share!:j

Ryanair are known for cancelling tickets bought through a third party, without refund.
Thought you might like to know so you can check.Legal team on standby0 -
I usually buy my European flights via Travel Republic and have never had a problem. When they have done this (in 2008 from memory) they did refund the fares.0

Why not just get a free pre-paid Mastercard, I've just booked 6 flight and the grand total in Card fees and charges was less that 25p per flight.0

There seem to be a lot of them out there, which do you recommend? I buy a lot of flights and each time I think "must get one of those cards" and then the idea recedes!!0 -
I'll have to check that then, thanks! I don't want the flights cancelling! Surely they can't not refund you though..........
I didn't have time to wait for one of the pre paid cards, the offer that they had on the flights ends on Monday.0 -
Your contract isn't with RyanAir, so they don't have to refund someone breaking their rules. You'd need a refund from Travel Republic.
They should refund, but it might take time.
If they do get cancelled you'll need to rebook at current prices which could be significantly higher, and they could cancel right up until the day of travel.
Sure its worth the risk?Legal team on standby0 -
Well no, you're right! It's not worth the risk!! I'll contact Travel Republic.
How many people must this happen to though?!
Obviously I was aware that I was still booking through Ryanair via Travel Rebuplic, I was actively avoiding the charges. I could've just as easily been booking a flight through Travel Republic though without the knowledge of Ryanair's charges............ When I was making the booking I went through the small print and nowhere did it say anything about cancellation due to Ryanair's credit card charges.:(0 -
Travel Republic will tell you everything is ok. It's nothing to do with credit card charges, it's just RyanAir don't like agents selling their tickets.
Despite Travel Republic telling you everything is ok RyanAir could cancel right up to the day of travel. There are horror stories of people turning up to an airport and having no choice but to buy full price last minute tickets.Legal team on standby0 -
Well Ryanair have just emailed me the flight confirmation details so I won't be happy if they do get cancelled!! We wouldn't be able to go if that happened on the day.
Thanks for the advice.0 -
