PAYG for 83 year old - please help

Thanks for all your help, went to all the stores in town today and couldn't belive how busy they were. Nobody had time to talk to us so we just took down prices and looked around.
When to an independant store where DH has his contract phone as he has been with them for over 5 years.
They recommended the Simple or the 1110 like you guys all said however they did not sell the Simple one only the wodaphone store down the road does. They had the 1110 but it was £50 as they cannot sell PAYG competetively so they suggested we went elsewhere.
My DH was due an upgrade on his phone but as he did not want it they were willing to give him a handsfree car kit for free instead. He was not too keen on that either so they said OK you can have the 1110 and a vodaphone sim card for free instead of an upgrade.
Yes please we said, bought a £5 top up and one cheap birthday present is now sorted.
Thanks all - you can't get better than free........Save £12k in 25 No 49
