Cross Stitch Cafe 2011 ..... part 2

Hi all,

Hope you have all had a nice relaxing Sunday. Here is what I have been finishing off today:

I drew/designed both of these 'cause then I can have them exactly how I want! I was going to give the top one away but I like it so its mine!!!! The eyelets around the edge I was just playing with effect, but my mum said 'it really adds something to it' so I'm glad I did now lol

Sweetcarer - I too wouldn't bother. If things go to your liking, do something in the future, but don't look back, it won't be appreciated as much IMHO. However saying that I had to have 'words' with my best friend a few years back to tell her basically she really needs to contact me more often and to make an effort to see me or I was going to stop trying cause it was upsetting when it was one sided. It worked and I can genuinely say she is still my best friend and I wouldn't be without her again now.

Witchwoo - I too would go for a picture of some sort. It really doesn't have to be an 'official' birth sampler and can be more to personal preference if it isn't

And I've brought in a mocha to have with one of the muffins if I'm allowed. Its getting a bit late for coffee now :rotfl:

out of interest, did anyone watch x factor last night ? is it worth bothering with this year ? I recorded it and starting to watch it earlier but got annoyed with it ! I usually watch the auditions then half watch the live shows (watch the recap then go back if performance looks good). I get bored with all the faff with adverts and all the playing up to cameras? I think I might have to give it a miss although its very easy to stitch while watching because you don't have to pay too much attention and can look up when something sounds good.

Has everyone had a lovely weekend ? Its a bank holiday next weekend !

Flateric. X Factor, we recorded it and fast forwarded the 'padding'. There were a couple of really good singers and the usual really bad ones too
Gary Barlow is already looking like the next Simon Cowell (only Gary is much better looking) if he didn't like something he straight out said so.

Hi louise - good progress, but then you do appear to be the faster stitcher in the WHOLe cafe!! lol. Can you remind me what those pens are called? I could do with getting one TVM

They are water erasable markers - you can get them on Sewandso or ebay for about £3ish

I wouldn't be without mine :j

How nice to be a new nanny. I have made this cross stitch sampler it was for g'son. The bootees were cream in the pattern but I changed it to blue (could be any colour really) Along with the name and date I also put 'when I am bigger you will recall, that once I really was this small'.

The design is by Maira Diaz and the pattern was bought via e*ay.


Sweetcarer; I love the 'all my yesterday' pictures they are so cute although I've not done one myself.....yet.
