Thank you :) I think/hope the op went okay. I was getting worried I hadn't heard from him (it's "day surgery" and he will be fit to drive home today so stupid me assumes it takes like 20 minutes!) so called the hospital, they tracked him down for me and he was just about to come out of observation and I can visit him at 7pm if I want. I don't think I will as he will probably be heading back here around then and I don't want to crowd him. But if he texts me before then I shall race off to the station to visit him.

It's probably really strange that I blurted it out on here but I didn't know what to do and wanted to tell someone. I've been reading about the cancer all day and it's comforting to realise that cancer doesn't mean instant death, even though that's all you seem to hear about.

    Evening all,

Happy birthday Elona and Donny-girl, hope that your party goes well to-night.

Dandy...hugs, would second what Seraph has said.

Overcast and windy here, got washing in dry this morning and hope that the load I put out will be ready to take in later on.

Dinner today is going to be salad with whatever bits I find in the fridge....not very hungry.

Our eating apple Katy is not quite ripe yet but the wasps have been having a field day, the barstewards are eating them off the tree, we wound some netting round earlier, but think I will have to harvest as quickly as possible.

Had a lovely picture on Facebook of DGS 2 with his first fish, a mackerel caught in W Cork where he and his mammy are spending the weekend with my brother....so jealous as I love mackerel.

Going to eat soon and spend the evening knitting....would like a fire, will see what OH says...

Hugs to all in need or want of one

Not had time to read yet. Just chilling with feet up after getting the food ready with a G&T. Thanks for the good vibes, weather looking hopeful, and it is not too cold either. (Birthday not until Monday)

Hope those off away have a lovely holiday, you deserve it.

    Eighth Anniversary
    Hi everyone,

Been so busy today that I have only just had time to post.

Been blackberry picking again, there are so many, it really is a bumper year and no-one else seems interested in picking them.
I picked about 4lbs and it still looked as if the bushes had not been touched, I think I have enough now to stock up my freezer for winter.
On the way back someone had kindly left some eating apples at the end of their drive with a sign saying help yourself so I had a few of those as well!

Need to make meatballs for tea now.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day and Elona is having a lovely birthday.:)

    Hope OH is ok Adelight.

I didnt see any posts yesterday so just had a quick catch up.I was busy moving our bed into Ds room, his old one to the charity shop, and taking delivery of our new one.As I didnt expect it till next week I then had to rush to Dunelm to get some bedding, got some lovely 100% cotton reduced a lot.I had to sort out the bed drawers too,but am now tidier upstairs than we have been for ages :jNow need to prettify the spare room for when the babyGD comes to stay,DNiece is lending us a cot,and we have a new mattress for it,6 wks to go so got enough time, she wont be staying straight away in any case.DS has just seen his ex,and she was pretty moody with him :(,she was fine with me last week and sent a lovely note after the babyshower.Ho hum..

Right, better go & get ready .We are out with our friends tonight.Hope you all have a good weekend.xx

Just popping in to wish JackieO and family a great holiday (enjoy the G & T on the verandah :D)

Best wishes to all those awaiting exam results - such an anxious time.

Molly41 - So glad you are starting to feel a bit better :)

Hester - glad you enjoyed Chichester.

Marie - I would have to say you'd be welcome to the mackerel. My Dad loved it but I can't bear the smell!

Hugs to Dandy-Candy, I hope your visit to the crematorium gardens helped a bit. It's true what other posters have said - in time, you will remember happy times with your dear Mum and smile.

csarina - Hope the weather improves there asap!

Adelight - best wishes to your OH for a speedy and full recovery.
Taplady - well done to DS2 :T He must be so chuffed!

Welcome to our new posters :)

We took DGS (5 next week) to the south coast on Tuesday, and took him on the little railway to Dymchurch, where there's a little amusement park with reasonably-priced rides. He loved it (and managed to sneak in an extra go on the helter-skelter by running back up the stairs before we noticed he'd emerged at the bottom :D) and was very well-behaved

I was meant to have an operation on Thursday, but it got cancelled after I'd been there a few hours and had been taken to theatre and then brought back when someone came out, looked at my notes and said I was the wrong patient! :( I was just about to get off my bed onto the trolley. Got to wait for a new date now, but I wasn't really surprised it didn't happen. There have been so many problems and delays all along that I think it was ill-starred from the start! Perhaps the new date will be more auspicious

    best wishes, ivyleaf xx
