Are there any loop holes or ways to get out of a mobile phone contract?
I'm with vodafone and am currently 14 months into a 24 month contract, is there anyway to cancel this?
Thanks in advance.

Tony's got it right, you can pay them off early - beyond that, no.0

If things are tight you could try downgrading depending on what Tariff your on ...I think you can do it each month by dropping £5 each time.
Try contacting them and asking the questionIt's not just about the money0 -

Unlikely, but worth a call.
14 months ago is June 2010, and the Your Plan tarrifs were in place then, they cannot be downgraded at all.
OP Look at you bill if your tarrif starts YP or YPL you cannot downrade it at all.
Death and bankrupcy are options to get out of the contract, although a bit extreme0 -
sell the phone you got...Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

If the phone is worth anything, sell it and use the proceeds to pay off the contract.
There are no 'loopholes'.0 -
Call up for military service overseas is accepted by some networks a a valid reason for voiding, although it's at their discretion-you may prefer that option to death or bankruptcy? Or not.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Whereas you may observe that I ALWAYS believe that people should honour their obligations under contracts and am not slow in commenting in that vein, if you look at some of the other posts by OP, maybe you might, as I did, have a little more sympathy.
That sympathy would swiftly evaporate though if he doesn't learn from his present misfortunes.0 -
Next time, get a basic phone for £10 and PAYG.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0

There are no loopholes but there are perfectly valid reason for cancelling a contract without penalty.
Liike the network changing prices, which they seem to do on a regular basis..0
