i changed my sons k750i lcd screen it was really easy after someone had posted a link of how to do it ( not sure where it is though) BUT be very careful when taking housing off (outer cover) as i think in the process i knackered the pcb:doh:0

i know this is for the k750i but it should be the same for the w800iN9eav wrote:Mine W800i is not cracked, but there is a fair bit of dirt between the cover and the screen. I would appreciate any links to instructions on how to dismantle and clean?

as barjam said, be careful not to damage the pcb by putting a blade in to remove front, its best to use something like a guitar plectrum. also try to lift the connectors out of the sockets squarely otherwise it can cause problems with not making connections when you put it back in0

If anyone decides to remove the rear camera cover from their D750/k750/w800 its better to have the camera cover open to remove them and very important to have it open when refitting to avoid damaging the camera ribbon microswitch.
And as noted a guitar plectrum is excellent for opening these tyre of cases.Join the Sarcasm Appreciation Society.

The first time I dismantled a K750i I took hours..now it takes about 1-2 minutes. Definitely don't use a knife blade though!N9eav wrote:Thanks. Looks scarey. I would rather take a washing machine to bits, the parts are bigger
And if the OP is going to change the casing I would recommend buying an original OEM set of covers, some of the cheap copies are rubbish and fit poorly.
Some Ebay sellers have Original Sony Ericsson grade A or B covers usually off returned phones that should be good enough for what you need.Join the Sarcasm Appreciation Society.
