Sony Ericcson W810i Cracked Screen

Hi All

Anyone know if I can get a screen repaired for a W810i Ericcson and possible how much this will set me back?
The phone is just a pay as you go for Orange.. no insurance included or warranty.

Many Thanks In advance!

If it's just the plastic screen, then it's a simple job (about £5). If it's the actual LCD screen, your looking at about £35 (thats doing it yourself).

How do you go about doing it yourself? its my brothers mobile and he's just said over the phone the screen is cracked.. so could be the plastic screen or the actual lcd. stupid..well really stupid question but how can you tell if its which? (i havent got the fone infront of me so i need to explain to my idiot of a brother)

    Thanks

if it's the plastic, it will be a cracked piece of plastic but the phone stuff will be still viewable behind it, if the LCD has cracked then you'll probably have nothing showing on screen or it all be white and useless. There are numerous online websites/forums with pictures detailing how to take the phoen apart and fit a new case. It's a bit awkward as you need to unscrew it from the back before the front will prise off

A professional fitting will cost you about £50.I would strongly recommend getting it done professionally otherwise it could just break down a couple of months later.

If you don't want to pay that much drop me a PM and i'll buy it off you. I'll give you a fair price - depending on accessories and condition etc.

Well maybe not, but if you decide to get it done then, then get it done properly. As at least you can go back to someone if it goes wrong.

Else if you are going to do it yourself then buy a genuine replacement - more expensive but well worth it.

Very easy to do - lots of guides inc pics on the net, will take about 15 mins max.

If you remove the front cover, you will see if it is the screen or plastic cover that is cracked.

Mine W800i is not cracked, but there is a fair bit of dirt between the cover and the screen. I would appreciate any links to instructions on how to dismantle and clean?
