Or if anyone who has your number ever syncs their Iphone, so you better keep checking.
But too late once they got it, you'll probably be only be able to remove it from being displayed. I expect FB will keep hold of it.0 -
This is rubbish. Unless you have added your number to your profile yourself no one will be able to see other than the friend who already has the number in his phone address book.0

If your number is listed then you added it top your profile. If you don't want your number on there don't add it to your profile.Come on you Irons0

Nope - not from my phone. The only contacts I have with visible phone numbers are those who have put them on facebook themselves.
I use my BlackBerry with facebook daily.0 -
My understanding is that if you use an iphone and if you have synch turned on then FB does download all numbers from your phone's address book. If you then go to Account/Edit Friends/Contacts you will see all your phone address book contacts within Facebook even when browsing Facebook from your pc. So FB does have contact numbers for users who have not put their number onto their profile.
However these contacts are only available to you as your personal phone book, other FB users viewing your or others profiles where you have numbers stored from you phone address book cannot see or access.
Short of it is that risk is no greater than allowing anyone to put your number into their phone in the first place, it's just that their phone address book is now stored both on their phone and on FB's servers. However it does raise the serious question that FB haven't made it clear (in my opinion) that your phone address book is automatically uploading contact info. to FB.0 -
mj123 is absolutely correct. When I go to Account/Edit Friends/Contacts I can only see the contact details that I already had in my phonebook, unless one of my friends is called 'Home'
Have a look at the settings in your phone's Facebook app, it will have a tick box allowing the app to merge with your phone's contact list. When I installed the app on my Blackberry it asked if I would like to allow this.0 -
Wow I use FB on my android phone and have just checked and all my phone numbers are on FB as well!! I was definately never asked if I wanted to sync my phonebooks cus if I had of been, I would have said no!

I've used my phone to buy FB credits (sad I know!!) and also used to send pics from my mobile to my account. I've checked to see if my number is shown by using my alternative account and there's no number showing for my main id.There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
