    Hi
    I was just wondering about email competitions;
    Would it be a good idea to make the font and colour stand out or should I just stick to the normal outlook message font?
    I know its a pretty silly question but I keep thinking about it!

    I don't think it would improve your chances,,,,,,
    Now if you could write upside down for an Aussie comp, That might.

    You could test it out with your entries for a few months,,,,,,,,,

    I think a suggested end date would be a good idea as mentioned above - perhaps two or four weeks after it's posted, or the end of the month it's posted? :D

    The mods are great if you need a post moving or unlocking and everyone can help with the boards if they find duplicate threads & stuff especially in the regular comps where there are so many posted :D

    Also without wishing to be ultra nosy, whatever happened to Foxy?
  • I've been getting so excited about some comps recently (and even entered them) only to find that you have to be under a certain age to be eligible.

    Is it worth considering having a separate children's competitions section for the under 18's?

    I was just wondering what everybody does regarding phone numbers - do you enter them or not? If you do, do you get a lot of phone calls from people attempting to sell you things? Is it worth entering them etc.

    I bought myself a really cheap-o mobile, and got a free sim card from o2. I use it as my 'comping' phone, which means that if it's called I know it's either a winning call or a marketing calls (which is more likely, haha).

    Touch wood, I have entered just about every competition that is posted on here, and used mobile number, and home number, and not had a problem with phone calls. Maybe had half a dozen altogether. The one thing I do though on holiday ones, or something that asks for income, is go to the lowest possible amount, as I think maybe the timeshare or iffy ones don't think its worth bothering ~ well that's my theory anyway and it seems to have worked so far.

    The post office scanners are programmed to read postcodes and bottom lines of addresses.
    So to avoid this always write your own address at an angle ie left to right and not top to bottom. Also try and write your phone number under your postcode, or England/United Kingdom ,,,,,,,,, That'll fool em :rotfl:

    I'll try that...thought they'd automatically read address on the right hand side...obviously not :) wonder how many more will come back!! :)
