thanks for the welcome. i love it when people do well, i was reading about the wins on here and found myself going 'ahhhh' and 'bless' and 'wicked', i think it's lovely to hear nice things as there's so much doom and gloom.
lol@wading through the mars, things we do for our fellow human beings eh? lol .
i'm one of those people who genuinely have never won ANYTHING although my (absent) babyfather did nominate me for !!!!! of the year i believe so i shall be positively orgasmic if i win anything at all lol
    good luck to everyone :)

Hi everyone. I would like to give this competitions thing a go. The only thing I enter regularly is I do Pigsback everyday but have never won anything from there.:(

How do I get started? What comps are best to go for? Where do I find them to enter? Can I find postal comps or should I just enter online?

Sorry for all the questions but I really haven't got a clue. I never win anything!

    welcome to the board :)

I just stick with this comping board/forum. Just enter the ones you would like to win. Most posts have a link, closing date and the answer.

    we are very friendly :)

    Hi there

Being new here I was wondering if there was a way to search the competitions by their closing date?

    Can anyone advise?

Also .. how do you keep track of which competitions you have entered!!

    Jo

    hi

don't think you can search by closing date, the search engine is pants most of the time. As for keeping track, many of us here press the "thanks" button in a post, that way we know if we entered it

    :)
  • Hi
    I was just wondering about email competitions;
Would it be a good idea to make the font and colour stand out or should I just stick to the normal outlook message font?
I know its a pretty silly question but I keep thinking about it!

No offence meant to the mods as i know they do it for free etc etc but i wish they wouldn't move the comps over just because we don't know the end dates so can't put one on the thread/s.

Maybe we could ask the mods, jointly somehow, if maybe they'd leave undated posts until after the 25th page or something like that...?

Or how about we put a 'suggested' date on ie End of current month - something to allow a bit of time on the site before it is taken off.

thats what we currently do, when undated posts get to page 20 i move them across.

The reason for this is now the board is so busy i can remember the days when 20 pages of comps was the norm for this board!!! we had time to check every comp and see if it was still running, now it would be more than a full time job to check if every comp was still running that didnt have an end date.

Sorry if some of you are upset about this, but we did arrange this about 2 years ago, as the lesser of 2 evils, people were complaining then that comps had closed and not been moved over as they didnt have an end date.

Hope this clarifies this for you.

Sorry, not complaining or wishing to add more work, just wondering if there could be a slight change without causing more work. I don't know, maybe after page 30 then, as you say there are a lot more posts now so things go back much quicker.
