surely this will only work if you log on to google homepage like me, if you delete your cookies regularly with www.ccleaner.com then they won't know you from adam (as no tracking cookie stored)Ex forum ambassador

I think the article has moved to:
http://news.independent.co.uk/sci_tech/article2578479.ece
Would someone like to confirm this (as I have not seen the original)?
Think that one is similar but not the same, I'm sure the other one has some silly bit about you could ask it questions like 'should I go for a new job?', something like that0 -
Hi guys - quick question.
If you don't want to fork out the 25 quid for the full version of roboform what other options are out there? Or has everyone just gone for the full version? My trial period is over and I wanted to know what my options were.if you don't have anything nice to say, keep schtum.

I just have the trial but I keep under 10 passwords stored so it doesn't keep reminding me0

but I have more than 10 passwords what with this new comping addiction! and I'm too lazy to keep a note of all of them
has anyone gone for the free full roboform thingie? I tried to uninstall roboform and this new window popped up saying they would give it to me for free if I did a few things...Don't want to sell my soul just yet

I only have the trial version but dont have any passwords stored, I just use the autofill function. I have the same password for all the sites that I am registered for comping withWeight Loss - 102lb0

I do the same, except for mse where I have a different user name/ password. Some sites want a different password and I try and keep a list of these on word. I do tend to be lazy though and just get them to email it to me when its needed.0

I find Firefox easier to use for entering comps.
Firefox allows you to save all your passwords and auto fills them for you when you visit each site.
The equivalent to roboform is Fireform. It has no limits. It does need a bit of setting up to get it to fill the right details for different sites but is great once you have it trained.
Firefox lets me put my daily comps in a folder on the toolbar where I can click "Open in tabs" and all the websites for daily entries are automatically opened in separate tabs.
There are a few sites which don't work correctly with Firefox in which case I just use IE. (You can have Firefox and IE open at the same time.)
Finally I set Firefox it to clear all cookies when it closes which avoids some problems that can crop up when you revisit a site. When using sites like Amazon where my details are saved in a cookie I switch back to IE again.Well, you know, my ancestry isn't all hamster.

How do you set up a folder on the toolbar to open in tabs please?
Also, I have some kind of plug in that allows me to open an IE tab within Firefox which is really useful for sites that I know don't like Firefox.0 -
How do you set up a folder on the toolbar to open in tabs please?
OK I have a try at explaining it.
The basic idea is to set up a bookmarks folder and make sure it is placed under the "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder" this is just one way of doing that.
In Firefox click on "Bookmarks" in the top menu
Then click on "Manage Bookmarks"
The Bookmarks Manager window should open.
In the left hand window there should be the list of bookmark folders.
The top item should be "Bookmarks" then under that will be:Bookmarks Toolbar Folder
Quick Searches
Firefox and Mozilla Links
Click on "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder" to highlight it.
Then click on "New Folder..."
Give the folder a name ... eg. "Daily" then click OK
Click on your new folder, "Daily" in the left hand window to highlight it.
Click on "Move..."
A "Choose Folder" windows open so click on the "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder"
Click OK.
"Daily" should now be listed under "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder" in the left window.
Close the Bookmarks manager window and "Daily" should now be one of the items on the toolbar at the top.
If you can't see the toolbar click on View ---- Toolbars --- Bookmarks Toolbar.
Now when you want to add a website to "Daily" visit the site then click on Bookmarks --- Bookmark this page and select "Daily" for "Create in:"
To open ALL the sites bookmarked under Daily just click on Daily in the toolbar and select "Open in Tabs" at the bottom of the list.Well, you know, my ancestry isn't all hamster.
