I'm thinking of buying a Swing

I am thinking of buying my son a swing for his first birthday. I am looking for a single frame swing, suitable for all ages with the option of buying a baby seat to fix on to it.

The last time I looked at swings was when I was a child myself, so I haven’t a clue what are good makes and what is a good price/supplier.

Can anyone help me with ideas?

Thanks

TP toys are excellent in my opinion. They do loads of options for swings and are really good quality. Not the cheapest but they do last well. You can get them at john lewis and lots of other places. TP toys don't ever seem to have special offers on though.

I bought the EL swing and it was fantastic. Still standing 10 years later.

Just to confirm what Sunnth says - TP are the bees' knees! We've had some of their stuff for about 15 years - three boisterous boys and lots of their pals later, it's still going strong and we're passing it along to younger friends.... :)

I've got a 7 year old ELC swing which is still played with regular. It started off with a bucket seat when my son was a year old, and now it's got a normal seat.

About 5 years ago, I bought the ELC climbing frame for Christmas, then organised the family so my parents bought a slide, my brother bought a climbing net and so on. That's all still in good condition and has been played with many times over the years.

The only downside is that the other children in the street all come in our garden to play, so it costs a small fortune in juice and biccys :D
Here I go again on my own....

lol! we have a climbing frame in the front garden to entice local kids to play with our son (i'm more protective than most parents round here, i won't let him wander the streets alone). it works brilliantly but i'd recommend getting multipacks of ice lollies in the summer lol!

We had just the baby seat when my son was little. You could fix it to a swing frame or buy 2 big hooks and screw them up into a door frame which is what we did. We could play with him in it even when it was raining.Later on we had a full sized swing which we bought from the local ads in the paper , it had room for 2 swings (the 2 seater type and conventional) we took the double swing off and put the baby seat on that for my daughter and my son had the other side with a single swing.Weve just scrapped it after 12 years.Wouldve sold it but the frame had become rusted together at the bolts so we had to cut it apart with an angle grinder.
Same with the climbing frame.Bought 2nd hand and lasted years.I repainted them both to match at one point and the swing had 2 new seats.
