Budget airlines (not main airlines) will normally sell their ticket online directly to avoid agent fee ....
This is also normally what I did when I buy a bargain ticket ...
How to deal with an agent without further charges, I have not got any clue, please elaboratePay cash at a agents?0 -
co op did this but its still electron to some online places. some wont accept it as a visa debit.0

Oh nooo ...
How could I beat budget airlines fee if the VISA scrap electron
Any advice will be highly appreciated .....0 -
These surcharges are going to become illegal under the EU Consumer Rights Directive that comes into force in 2014. With the OFT and Which both challenging these charges at the moment, it seems likely they'll be outlawed sooner - hopefully before these cards disappear.
Lufthansa and Swissair have just introduced INCREASED surcharges wef 2nd Nov.
So it's another two fingers to the travelling public and the EU law makers !
EU Directives don't actually count as Laws. They merely instruct member states that they must have a similar Law on their Statute books.
If they don't, it can take years to force states to do this.......................so don't hold your breath folks !0 -

I have the number for the easycash helpline and they were the ones that told me, when the computer system changes over they won't be issuing electron anymore (or easycash accounts, but anyone with an easycash account will be able to get an upgrade rather than having to get a new account). I can email the bank and ask for clarification. It would be odd to have a group wide system that goes back to issuing electron cards along side the Visa Debit that does not let you go overdrawn. LTSB took them away, I think LBG would see it as a retrograde step to start issuing them again, especially when they did it because the product is seen as inferior by some. Also to the poster who commented about the Co-op card it wont be the same as that as it will (or should have it follows the same route) have the BIN of LBG off-line debit cards.
Edit: I think the reason it keeps re-appearing every few months is because LBG keep putting back the date of the migration of their system group wide.0 -
savagej;
I think most people who own Visa Electron with their Halifax easy cash, already have a proper bank a/c which come with embossed Debit card, either with Halifax (e.g. such as a reward current a/c) or in other Banks.
An Easy Cash is just a mean of getting a Visa Electron to beat the budget airlines fee.
So upgrading the account if it does not come with Visa Electron, is not expected ... ...I have the number for the easycash helpline and they were the ones that told me, when the computer system changes over they won't be issuing electron anymore (or easycash accounts, but anyone with an easycash account will be able to get an upgrade rather than having to get a new account). In the time it took you to post that you could have just looked it up yourself.
