Airline sale or cynical con?

Oh Bless !
Well if writing the letter made you feel better then I suppose it was worth the effort -but honestly I wouldn't expend too much energy on it-you're unlikely to get much satisfaction from them.
Not sure who the frilly airline is but I find I never get the best deal with BA and rarely with Virgin -they are consistently beaten by the American carriers-as an example my latest booking was £200 cheaper per person with United than BA and Virgin was even more expensive.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Type "Further reductions" into google for the last week. Almost every company has sales, where they further reduce items that haven't already sold at the starting sale price. If your buyers remorse lasts more than a few days, its recommended that you see a doctor.0

To conclude this topic, the following is the reply the CEO of my (once) favourite airline asked his Customer Relations lady to write:
Thank you for your letter addressed to X (the CEO). He has asked me to contact you directly on his behalf. I am sorry you remain unhappy with our responses. I appreciate it must be frustrating to learn that your exact same flights were cheaper not long after our sale.
As previously advised, like all airlines, we need to make sure each one of our flights is profitable. This is easier on some routes than it is on others. Our commercial teamworks hard to offer the best possible, competitive fares to our customers on all our routes. I understand it would not make sense to reduce the price of a flight after a sale, (my red - GoodOlAl) especially as the price of the ticket was a good deal at the time. However, there are occasions where our prices can still decrease after a sale as fares do change frequrently.
While I understand your reasons for asking, we would not refund the difference between the two fares.
I know this is not the answer you were hoping for and I am sorry to disappoint you. Thank you again for getting in touch and I do hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you on board again soon.
Three observations:
The part of the reply in bold red is exactly the point I was making, though this is the first time it was recognised. Whether the rest of the reply then makes sense depends on one's point of view;
The airline would have a much better "opportunity to welcome me on board again soon," as well as my favourable personal publicity (for what that's worth) if it had granted my request for the refund of £30, and,
If I bought the same ticket today, it would cost £40 more than I paid, and £70 more than immediately after the sale.0 -
Having just read all your long winded posts I'm still struggling to find any justified reasons for your complaints ! You really do need to get out more....preferably with an airline you won't want to complain about !0

I filled up at Tesco last Friday, yesterday I noticed that Deisel was 3p a litre cheaper, I think I'll complain to Tesco for selling it cheaper after I'd already filled up. Sorry for the sarcasm but I really don't get the OP problem.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

If you don't get it, you don't get it, but there's a clue why this was posted in the title of the site:
"..... money saving ....."
Sorry for the sarcasm, but wasn't aware Tesco last Friday had a "sale" of their diesel.
Lowering the price immediately after a "sale" is mis-selling.
End of.0 -

But you weren't missold the flight, you're just P****d off because they further reduced the the price a few days later, get over it, !!!!!! happens.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -
Yet again I feel compelled to point out that the T&C of the sale would have stated something along of the lines of "not all flights on all routes are included in the sale" and equally something along the lines that the airline reserve the right to increase and decrease flight prices to match the supply and demand.
Why, when EVERYONE disagrees with you (including the airline) do you continue to post that you've been mis-sold?Legal team on standby0
