    Disappointed with your replies.

I was NOT happy with the price I paid.

I paid it because it was a "sale price," and trusted the airline to offer its best price during the sale, not the day after the sale.

Had the airline lowered the price further after a week or so, because it hadn't sold as many seats as anticipated during the sale, or a competitor had launched a new sale, etc. I wouldn't have complained, but to lower the price immediately after the end of the sale smacks of rip-off Britain, devalues the wildly-publicised sale, and may well amount to mis-selling.

Never looking at the price of a flight after you've booked it is ostrich-like, certainly NOT the kind of suggestion to be promoted on this of all sites. Despite my feeling of being ripped off, I'm glad to know the tricks airlines get up to, in other words not to trust their sales again.

Obviously you were happy because you bought the tickets.
If you check the terms of any airline sale you'll find that they dont include all flights on all routes. The fact the price went down after the sale is a coincidence and nothing more.

    I agree with you 100%.

As for the nature of many of the replies....this is MSE, so you should expect to be informed that it is all your own fault; or that you should have read some ridiculouly obscure small-print in the terms and conditions; or that you were happy to pay the price at the time; etc. etc. ad nauseum ;)

and some people just want to moan for moaning sakes, why not write to the airline and see how far you get and please pop back on here and let us know how you get on, hell maybe you could post the letter so we could all use it as a template for whenever we buy anything in a sale and then they drop in price even further

The sequence of events has been as follows:
First, I completed the airline's complaints form, saying:
    (a) I consider holding a sale trumpeting advantageous prices then reducing the price immediately after the sale is the stuff of no-frills airlines that specialise in all kinds of trickery and sharp practices, but not what I expect of a reputable flag-carrier, and it smacks of mis-selling, and,
    (b) Anyway, surely I'm entitled to a refund of the price difference under the airline's price promise, so I request a refund of the price difference (namely £30 on my ticket of £439.)

Of that first complaint, (a) was answered with a general waffle: "when you booked, you got the best price available," and (b) was ignored.

    I repeated my complaint,
    (a) was ignored totally, (b) was answered by "for the price promise, the flight must be for the same route, with each leg of the trip flown in the same order, for the same dates, for the same flight numbers, in the same class of travel, for the same type of ticket. As it is not in your case, I'm afraid we cannot refund the difference between the two fares."

    My third complaint
pointed out the flight WAS EXACTLY "for the same route, with each leg of the trip flown in the same order, for the same dates, for the same flight numbers, in the same class of travel, for the same type of ticket," making it exactly the situation when a refund of the difference between the two fares WAS payable.
But no, it wasn't - I was referred to that part of the price promise stating Please Note: All claims must be made by midnight on the day of purchase.
    Some price promise!

Accordingly, I complained directly to the CEO of the airline by snail mail.
Still no answer after 10 days, so I started the thread.
If there ever is an answer I'll post it.

Seriously £30? How much time and effort have you put into your complaints etc for the sake of £30.

Maybe if we had a whip round we could put an end to this

Agreed life IS too short ..... agreed it is ONLY £30, if you see £30 as an "only" amount,

I've spent no more than 2 hours total on it, when I haven't had anything better to do.

There's a principle here. Of course worse things happen, but accepting little rip-offs is how rip-off Britain started, and is what this site is about stopping.

If you can dismiss £30, and are better employed for my 2 hours, good luck to you

No apology for calling it as I see it.
