Airline sale or cynical con?

My favourite airline held a much-trumpeted SALE.
I wanted to benefit from it so rather inconveniently (as I hadn't been able to make all the other necessary arrangements) booked my ticket on the last day of the sale, 19th July, for a flight departing 11th October.
Few days later I checked to see how much I'd saved by booking during the sale, only to find the price of my £439 ticket had been reduced by £30.
I complained to the airline immediately, pointing out the misrepresentation of holding a sale then reducing prices immediately after it ends, but so far I've not had a satisfactory answer.
Do you think my complaint is justified or not?

The airline can sell seats at any price it wants. When they put them on "sale" perhaps they didn't sell as many as they thought they would so they have reduced the price even more.
One assumes that you thought the price was a good deal when you bought yours ?0 -
They don't guarantee that it will be the lowest price.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

And it's never all flights on all routes. Supply and demand etc etc.Legal team on standby0

On one level, I sympathize if you somehow feel "cheated". Then again, I guess you must have been happy with the price you paid when you paid it.
At the end of the day, the airline's ultimate aim is to make a profit (be it by selling fewer seats at higher prices or more seats at lower prices), not to satisfy your desire for a bargain. And I say this as having been caught out by the same (I think) SALE.0 -
A "sale" is based on an item being cheaper than it was previously sold, it does'nt mean it wont be sold any cheaper in the future.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

Quite often sale prices keep going down. People have different price points and any business wants to maximise profit, so they rarely give their best deal straight away. If you had waited it out, then they may have sold all the seats and then you would kick yourself for missing it.
It sounds like you have a case of buyer's remorse. If you was happy with the price at the time of purchase, then stop worrying about it and enjoy your holiday.0 -
This is why you should never look at the price of a flight after youve booked it.0
