Cut a long story short!! I was a victim of ID theft and someone opened up 2 T-mobile contracts in my name. The accounts was investigated and they confirmed they was opened fraudulently and that I wasn't accountable for any of the debt, fantastic. The problem I'm having now is that they are telling me the accounts will stay on my credit file & demanded I write to the credit referral team. This has been going on for too long and I want it finished. Surely once the accounts are closed they should have requested for them to be removed from my file credit file?

The same thing happened with o2 around the same time and they closed my account and requested for it to be removed from my credit file. I was very pleased with the service & spoke to someone from the UK every time.

T-mobile use overseas call centers, this is absolute nonsense, the reception is bad too. I got very angry when I requested for the records to be removed & the customer service rep said "WHATS A CREDIT FILE?":mad::mad::mad:

Avoid this company in my opinion, it should not take this long to resolve this problem. Next step is Watch Dog & maybe even court

What can I do next...Any advice?

Why do you want it removing? it will stay on your file with a note to say it was potential ID theft. My credit file has a CIFAS flag due to id thent, I WANT it on there, If anyone tries to use my details to get credit they should be asked for secondary ID.

Once your details are used they may be used again. A potential ID theft is a useful tag, it may be a little more hassle to you but if saved this happening again it's worth it.

It's not a black mark simply that it happened and may prevent it happening again if people check the file carefully.

I want it removed because both accounts are defaulted & have a Balance of £1080 each. This is having an adverse effect on my ability to obtain credit

The matter should be reported to the police ASAP and give T-Moblie your crime reference number and also ask the credit reference agencies to place the accounts in dispute and they will placed a note on your credit file.

Its is best to not apply for credit until the matter is resolved.

The credit record will say they are in default but not how much. TM have to sort that out and correct it, but having the fact you have been credit checked cannot usually be removed, just a note to explain why.

If your account is flagged as possible ID fraud anyone would be reluctant to give you credit till it's resolved, how do they know you are not the fraudster?

The credit check can be removed if he did not agree to it being carried out.

The matter has been reported to the police ages ago!! Whats getting me VERY angry is that T-Mobile themselves have confirmed its fraud and have closed down the accounts, this is after a bit of investigating (Disclaimer form). I just want this removed of my file completely!!!! I want to trace or this nonsense on my file

They have informed me that only the company involved can request the removal

Did you write to T-mobile's credit referral team as they asked? If so what did they reply?

ALL SORTED!!! Plus I got a FREE iPhone 4 as a good will gesture....

I went into store & spoke to a manager, he was kind enough to make a couple calls and helped me sort this mess out.

Someone from T-mobile tried to Re open the accounts apparently, that's what stopped things!!!

I now have in writing that I owe absolutely no money to T-mobile & they have requested for the 2 accounts to be removed from my credit file...

Great IN STORE service, I was actually going to file a court order against them. Im just happy its all over now!! YAAAAAAY:D

I stood my ground & wouldn't leave the shop until this nonsense was resolved:T
