The Riots Still Continue, when will it ever end

I've said all along that the disbanding of the Home Defence Force was a mistake. Similarly the Ulster Defence Regiment (latterly called the Royal Irish Regiment Home Service) could have been used here to help the police. Of course the gummint couldn't wait to get rid of these units to save money and now they're desperately needed.0

Situation not helped by calling the thieving scumbags "Rioters" when the more accurate description is "Looters".
Strange how it's OK to use baton charges and kettling against peaceful protests, but when the looters might fight back...
My solution, stop messing about with half measures and start shooting looters, well OK use rubber bullets to start with.

I have read a lot people saying on various threads that it is time to bring the Army in.
Unless im missing something, the only real difference the Army can offer is the Firepower as they are not public order trained as such.
So i dont see how we can bring the army in unless were prepared to authorize our Army to use lethal force and shoot on sight anyone found looting or rioting?0 -
It won't end until the police are allowed to use more than a shield and some handcuffs.
If the police had set a proper 'This will not be tolerated' example on the first night in London by coming down on those idiots with rubber bullets and water cannons then it wouldn't have erupted in other cities.
If police would stop being accused by do gooder nitwits and politically correct morons of being heavy handed, perhaps they would be more willing and able to 'set a proper example'0 -

Totally agreed, society and our government have forced our police away from using force, just look in the media, we are always complaining that they are heavy handed. They cant win!0 -

Nice picture but what is it for?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
