As you say, you hit a sticky patch, but the next few weeks seem to be geared up for a much easier ride. Good luck!!

    Cheers Hypno,

That's OH off again - and he's got a good stint of work so we can throw some more towards it next month.

We've also got an appointment with the financial advisor to see about getting a joint mortgage which would be great means we can use some of the equity in the flat to clear the debt and get some savings by and then overpay on the mortgage.

  • Well I'm back. The internet has been reconnected at long last - what a palaver!!

Some major events since I was last on, as you can see our debt total has reduced dramatically since my last post. We managed to get a joint mortgage and release some equity in the flat which has allowed us to pay off the monster bills that weren't reducing at all.

Unfortunately after all the fees etc then we are short by £3000 to clear off all the debt, but we should be able to do that in the next few months without to many problems.:money:

I've just done up a new budget so we should have around £600 a month to put into savings, deal with the MOT's birthday's, saving for the wedding (which is the next big task:eek: ).

I have to say there is a feeling of great relief and I'm so pleased that we have been able to use the equity in our home to allow us to start again. We both know where we went wrong with our spending and never want to put this type of strain on our relationship again.

Thank you so much for all the support and advice that you all gave me here, it really help us take control of our finances, and helped save us from getting into real trouble and losing everything!
