  • Hooray, just checked my ebay sales and have sold some freebies with a profit of £6.49. So that is a start on the aim to get to £50.

It also means that I raised £53.75 towards the £84 I need to get below £29,000 so I need another £30.25 by Sunday. Which should be fine because I'm due £90 from commission for some work I did last month!!!! I'm winning this month!

  • Just signed up for race for life in June. I thought I needed something to keep me motivated to get fit and to give something back. And there it was I was reading through a magazine and there was advert for it, so before I knew it I had signed up and got £25 worth of sponsorship!!

I've also volunteered to help out at a local festival, which I'm hoping in the long run will get me some new contacts and work. Another small step forward!

Getting there with my target for raising £84 before sunday, I'm going to clear out tonight and do a carboot sale tomorrow (providing the weather is alright!)

  • Woo Hoo! Just submitted my AQA first application, fingers crossed. Didn't make the car boot sale today - so much work to get through and so much stuff to declutter, next weekend once OH is back and can help me!

  • Some good & bad news.

Didn't get through the AQA test - so that's that out for extra income.

But I have just earned £15 for an hour of teaching & OH been paid £400 for a last minute gig so we are £415 up on what we were yesterday. It's going straight into his account so I know the bills are covered when he's away next month!

Other debt busting stuff I've done today - written my letter to Abbey asking for Bank Statements, written second letter for OH bank charges claim to Lloyds tsb, and advertised for teaching working on the internet!

I'm also going to send my CV round this evening and see if I can get anymore events work. ;)

OK I'm back. We have fell off the Debt-free band wagon for a while the last couple of months. As of last week we are back on it. It was mostly due to me not earning as much as I expected from my company as it was only bringing in an a couple of hundred pounds a month, which is still the same but I'm doing everything I can to turn that round.

I have set up my birthday challenge to pay an extra £250 towards the debt by 23rd May and so far have about £15 secured and another £65 possible in the next week.

Going to clear out today and get do a car boot sale, have some bits on ebay and have been doing competitions.

Going to advertise for some more teaching work - try and get some more business for the company.

    Wish us luck.;)

Just got a letter in saying that I need to put in £160 to one of my account's because it's overdrawn! I only have £120 left of my wages to last me until end of month, and I'm away on a course this weekend so need cash for food and petrol. OH is away working so at least he will bring home some cash - but don't think it's going to be enough to cover us! Why when you think you've got it under control that something comes up and bits you on the backside!!!!!!!!!

Good news is that I went into panic mode and put a few more books on amazon this morning and sold two of them already!

Feeling really down this morning just check my accounts to find that two of them are overdrawn and I only have £50 in my account to last me until the 30th May. I've also missed the deadline to claim my travel expenses from work next one the 25th so also means I won't get it until beginning of next month and I can't claim any of my freelance work until next week so that's another couple of weeks.

why is so hard? I need to ask my OH (again!!!) to sub me until the end of the month - feeling really rubbish, I just want it all gone.

Also found out my debt total is wrong it's nearly up at £30,000 again and had to use my challenge money to pay a council tax bill that wasn't payed last month.

    :hello: welcome back :hello:

Don't feel down hun we all have bad days, or weeks even! You have got 15 days left this month which is £3.33 a day spends on the days you don't really need anythign put it towards the nest day giving you a total of £6.66 you see what i mean.

Use a calendar to mark the day you must have your expenses in by hopefully then you shouldn't miss it again! For the only bill i don't have on D/D is the Credit card i put a red mark on the calendar 2 days before its due this way if i miss the calendar 1 day i still have an extra day to get on with it.

Don't worry about the debt being back up, your income is not set each month so you may have the odd setback maybe you could set up a little savings pot when your earnign more and put in a little each week for times like this.

Kepp your chin up hun x
You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !

Would you like to speak to the man in charge, or the woman who knows whats happening?

OK some bad news and some good news.

Bad news still overdrawn on business account - will need to sort this on Monday by taking money out of one of my cards so I don't get lots of charges. OH's visa payment didn't go through despite him putting money in the bank the same day as it came out.

Good news - have two weeks of full time work from 28th May! Also have a weekend of work next weekend and my travel expenses will be paid at the beginning of June. So some extra income!

    Hi weegie

I just saw your diary for the first time and it struck a chord - OH and I are self employed with fluctuating earnings too and it really feels like one step forward, one step back at times.

Congratulations on getting the extra work and good luck - I'm going to look out for your diary from now on
