Trying to sell my house

Come on, it is hardly a flea pit, it looks clean enough. The decor and furniture are bad, that is all.0

Photos are awful, get back on to the agent to sort them out.
No excuse for blurry photos nowadays!
Declutter and move stuff out, even if it is just dressing for the photos!
Edit: it's not a flea pit though!Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
Please tell us that isn't a commode on the RHS of the bathroom picture....
But, to answer your question - could be better-presented. Tell us what you did to prepare for the photos or the viewings0 -

Right now LR says prices aere pretty much back where they were back then.... £54,309 for a terraced house June 2011.
Your house is particularly badly presented. If you need to clear £65k, then you are expecting a buyer to clear other debts for you.
How come your mortgage is so big when you paid so much less and what makes you think you will find a greater fool to pay those debts for you?
No thats not the price that was the price but has since been lowered although not on the website for some weird reason. is 60kI need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:0 -
I was waiting to be pleasantly surprised but when I clicked on the link I saw a flea pit.
If that is the effort you put into making the house looking good to sell it......
Then it's no wonder you haven't sold it.
thanks for your helpful commentI need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:0 -

thank you for the replies - I know my house is not perfect but limited time and money, the bedroom no longer looks like that and has been emptied since so thats not what viewers see
everything is normally removed before a viewing so the rooms look bigger. I have som much stuff in boxes under the bed im amazed the bed hasn't risen up!
I have no idea why no photo was taken of the yard? can ask the agent.
the 2nd bedroom had my son asleep in his cot on the day the photographer came so he didn't want to disturb hi, and said I didn't need photos of all the rooms - i believed him
as for the decor and the bathroom, there is nothing I can do about it - we don't have any money to re decorate.
Because of this I originally had 1k cashback on the price as well, but the estate agent said it was a waste of time and would make no difference.
If i go back to the estate agent for better photos will they re charge me????I need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:0 -
I am sorry you are having a tough time selling. You have posted a link here so I hope you will not be upset by my opinion, it is just my opinion but I hope it helps
Pic 1 - House looks a bit sad and run down, bin needs to be moved, wires hanging off house and struts supporting roof (above front door) look rotten, both houses on either side look run down.
Pic 2 - Terrible photo, the key features of the room, the bay window and the cornice around ceiling are obscured all you can see is the very dated fire place and gas fire. All looks a bit old but comfy!
Pic 3 - Kitchen looks clean but very dated. Kitchen bin is not attractive, things on the top of cupboards indicate not enough storage, flooring very dated
Pic 4 - Strange place to put the bed, to much mismatched furniture, boxes on top of cupboards tell me house is short of storage, what is the strange metal frame in the picture
Pic 5 - Clean but old and dated, frame around toilet and grab handles around bath may be needed but dont look modern. Is there a shower?
Really a truly aweful set of pictures, you need to declutter, anyone looking at the pictures will know they need to spend 10K at least, I dont know what price houses go for where you are but the cost to improve needs to be factored into your price.
Hope this helps0 -

We can't say. That will depend on your agent.
Pic by pic,
1 The front photo is blurred to my eyes. The photographer should have tried for a higher viewpoint, rather than shooting up to the house. Could they stand on a wall opposite, on a stepladder, or shoot from the upper window of a neighbour's house opposite? Take the wheelie bin out of the shot
2 Blurred, it won't wash out so much if the photographer shoots with the window behind him/her, rather than shooting toward the window.
3 Clear the composting bin from the window ledge, the tops of the cabinets, remove the blue stackers, the red bin and tidy the pinboard. Take it again and see how much better it looks.
4 Clear the clutter; exercise machine, stuff on top of wardrobe, etc
5 Reframe it to excluded the commode-like framework to the right.0 -
The net curtain in the front window would put me off. Just looks so old fashioned. The whole house just looks tired.. Could you not afford a couple of tins of cheap magnolia and pain the house with that? I would say you need to remove most of the furniture/nicnacks so people can see the potential in the rooms.0
