Is now the time to buy stocks/shares??

I don't really understand the OP's question. In my view, if you have a 5-10 year investment horizon, it's ALWAYS the right time to look at buying shares and share-based funds.0

I have mine in a spreadsheet that automatically downloads prices from Yahoo, and projected dividends from Digital Look, and then works out forwards yield. I also have another watchlist on yahoo finance that lets me see price, 52-week high/low and 52-week rolling average. For p/e, divi cover, and xd dates, I use Digital Look, but it does sometimes have missing data and errors.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Well done that man! It's nice when things work out, but I hope you had a stop loss in place!
Shame you missed the XD date of Aug 3rd but nice that you were pretty close to the (most recent!) bottom.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Yup, I didn't give too much kick back regards the fags. However, that we still invest in booze, dyno-fuel and defence does make it all a tinge flimsy.
Gadget, thanks for helping me with my mithering lol.
Yes, I invest in dyno fuel and booze but not defense (or at least not by me there may be defense in one of my ITs or funds).
After all, a drink or two helps market crashes go down rather better than being stone sober. I was in France during this one w/o internet access lol. I bought one of those BT openzone roaming vouchers but could nto log on any of the nearby places they told me had hot spots with their partners. One of whom (SFR) told me at their shop they had no idea they were partners with BT lol. Even they couldn't get me online with that stupid voucher. Makes me glad I don't hold BT ;-)0 -

BT are on my shortlist, but I really don't think I can bring myself to do it. :-)I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

The thing is, when I am in the UK in a major area (such as Manchester a few weeks back) the openzone vouchers work fine.
But when partners dont know they are partners (even when they call head office and HO doens't know about the scheme) it isn't a good sign. Sounds to me they need to work the kinks out before selling euro roaming vouchers.0 -

the share price went up £3.40 meaning you made a £37.7k profit? you must have invested over a quarter million in the intial investment...... seems a bit unlikely.0
