At the moment I want to lose 9 pounds - to get me below the next stone level and then 7 pound "chunks" from there on in!

I'm also not looking at it as losing 6 stone. I'm breaking it down, setting REALISTIC TARGETS (Helen) ;) 14lb by halloween this year would be perfect for me. I've set it at 21 as that's still realistic and doable so should just push me that little bit more :)

Wow....My Diary HAS been busy!! :D

I WAS sleeping....now am awake....and going to have something to eat and then start Work at 8pm until 8am....Hoping to do a fair old chunk of my Target tonight....

You are ALL helping so don't think I don't appreciate you ALL...thank you....

Crimson...I already do a Work Schedule for the Week....problem is that I don't always stick to it!! So that's my main Goal for this Week is to stick to what I've planned...and if I do that then I should hit my Target with no problems!! That's the plan anyway...

I really can't start Slimming World until June as I can't afford to a) Eat healthily as I always find that more expensive and b) Can't afford the Classes....so I will start in June and I also have about 10 stone to lose....but will settle for 7 pounds at a time...It's a scary time for me though - Losing weight has been the one thing that I've always been terrible at....and I have never figured out why I can't seem to lose it....but I'm going to try again and hopefully keep motivated....

Right....off to make a Phone Call and then be back later xXx

From what you say you live on (ready meals, chocolate, crisps, pizza and so on) it is not cheaper than healthy food.

I've just checked our average spend on food over the past nine months and we spend around £150 a month on food (for 2 people). That's around £17.50 a week per person and while there are some economies buying for two this is still less than the cost of one of the pizza's you say you buy.
We eat healthy food and we're not trying to spend as little as possible on food.

Go and have a look at the weight loss thread on the OS board if you haven't already.

Jack Monroe fed herself and her son for £10 a week. Have a look at her blog - there are some great healthy cheap recipes.

Have you heard of myfitnes pal? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ It's totally free.

If you want some inspiration have a read of Nicola Miller's story. She lost 18 stone in 15 months by eating healthily and exercising.

You need to stop thinking it's expensive to lose weight as it simply isn't. Stop using that as an excuse not to do something about it.
There's loads of support both here on MSE and elsewhere if you want to use it.

It comes down, like everything else in your life, to actually doing something rather than talking about it.

^^^ This....It is definitely the case....I just need to DO something about my Life....not just TALK about it....

I'm also worried about my Mum at the moment....she's had to come home early from Work because she's sick...and that is NOT like her at all....she'd normally rather battle it out than come home....But I've told my Grandma to Call me if she needs to go to the Hospital and i'll come over....

But my Mum always humbles me....She works so hard and has done all her Life....and I want to be like that too....And at the moment i'm NOT like that....but I AM going to be!! I want to get to the end of my Life and say that I achieved things by sheer hard Work...not just because I lucked into things...

Anyway....Thank you for the Links hun....I'll have a read through them...xxx

You could well be right....I've always seen Healthy Food as more expensive because Fruit and Vegetables are more expensive....but I guess it IS possible to do it cheaply...

You can be a nag hun....It might just be exactly what I need right now....

It's all relative really. I'd say 99% of the time cooking from scratch in cheaper (certainly than takeaways). There are times when I spend more on ingredients than if I had bought a ready meal, i.e when I make homemade pizza, BUT homemade fills me up for much longer and it's better for my health so really it just works out better if you make your own cheap, filling and healthy meals :)

Just to add: if you have any Asian shops, they are often better value than Tatco for instance, and there's nothing wrong with frozen veg & fruit if the fresh stuff is too far out of your budget
