What's Just Not Worth Scrimping On?

Oh I forgot shoes! My work shoes cost me 50 quid but with the battering they get its worth it. My last pair cost 50 and I wore them till they literally fell off my feet but they lasted 2 and a half years. I've just bought another pair and they were 50 quid as well.. hopefully they will last as long. My mate who says everything I buy is a waste of money moaned that was too much to pay for work shoes and I should just get a cheap pair from a value shoe shop until I pointed out that doing that would probably mean I would need a new pair every week! Yes ok my shoes are Kickers and yes i probably am partly paying for the name but they are well made and comfortable so I don't mind paying out every few years.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

Toothpaste. Stock up when it's on offer, and use an electric toothbrush so you only need a pea-sized blob, but has to be branded. These teeth have another 70 years in them and need to last it!0

Great thread. I think everyone has their own items that they would never scrimp on. For me, it has to be fish fingers (must be Birdseye) and Pepsi (has to be from a can - bottled doesn't taste the same). Oh, and razor blades, as I found out the other week (I still have scabs on my ankle and heel where I clipped them with the cheap ones I got).

Because I won't compromise on meat, fish and eggs 50% of our meals are veggie. OH drinks one cup of coffee a day and that is 'Alto Rica', everything else has been 'branded down' to the cheapest we find acceptable. Beloved Staffie has delicate stomach so has a particular dried food - 4 sacks bought on holiday at bargain price.0

Toiletries that haven't been tested on animals.
Bread - can't stand the value stuff.
Peanut butter. Whole Earth stuff only for me ta!
As for cheap washing powder, I use soap nuts instead. Non-bio, completely natural, cheap, gentle on your clothes and a bag lasts for absolutely AGES! :money:

Do I need it? Can I afford it? Is it cheaper elsewhere?0 -
Heinz ketchup and salad cream. I don't like their beans, though.
Hellman's mayonnaise.
Felix or Whiskas.
Smirnoff or Russian Standard vodka is the cheapest I will go.
Good hair conditioner/treatment.
Catsan cat litter.
Coffee - morrison's own is disgusting.
Tea - has to be earl grey and I've found some loose leaf in a little shop in Hebden Bridge which is lush.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0
