Lol i do remember reading a thread on here on how to cut back spending and someone once said..

" when putting a new loo roll on squash it so it is more oval shape and that way when people roll it to bring some sheets off it wont roll off loads as it kinda thuds round" :rotfl:

:D I think the manufacturers need to catch onto this and do MSE loo roll, twice as many perforations and an oval centre.

Some of my friends drink cheap vodka on nights out, blergh! Tastes like anti-freeze!

Also it's not wise to scrimp on anything health related like medicines, paracetamol and horse tranquilisers are easily confused :rotfl:

I've even heard of people buying knock-off petrol, sounds like an explosion waiting to happen to me!

I'm proud of you all keeping your own small luxuries, they make such a difference to each day.

I'm off to have a glass of genuine coke and a Tesco biscuit :p

  • I shop at aldis & lidl so often get "cheaper" stuff but its better quality (there was an article in the gaurdian a few years ago comparing the quality of foods in the big 4, M&S & aldis & aldi won hands down). There's not much I'm not prepared to go for a cheaper option. for example I buy aldis 9 pack of loo rolls for £1.99 - now they aren't as fluffy as the £4-6 packs in the supermarket but much better quality than the basics. My oh insists on Hellman's mayo, cheap wine is chateau migraine! And ground coffee keeps me happy. I bought soap nuts a couple of months ago so washing powder's not an issue and prior to that I bought aldis anyway

  • There's not much I won't compromise on, but I do insist on decent coffee and tea (Twinings now do a decaff Engish Breakfast) so I stock up when I see an offer on.

The only other things are proper Pepsi and, if I ever buy tomato soup rather than make soup, it has to be Heinz. Funnily enough if I ever buy chicken soup it can be anything :)

I don't mind which dairy spread I have on my lunch sandwiches (usually Flora buttery or Clover) but for my toast it has to be real butter :)
