Who is at home while you are at work? Souds like OH is at home with the kids before you?
If that is the case then I would leave a list of things I expected to be done. Just until he got used to knowing what needed to be done.
Some may say that he shouldn't need a list (and they would technically be right) but some men can just live in a tip without seeing the harm in it so they don't bother. It's all very well shouting when you get in, but they forget it by the next day.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I suggest starting by flinging.. I love to fling.. nothing gives me greater pleasure than a pile of carp leaving the house!!
If you have had it 6 months unused you dont need it.. that was the iron gone!!!!! and the husband lol...

i find it hard going doing everything myself as i dont work and hubby does but hes already been told when kids older and i work too that he either will have to pull his weight or pay for a cleaner lol
i have certain things i do each day, every other day or weekly then also a list of jobs that get fitted in as and when
my house is ok...not perfect but ok and thats good enough for me...i just do a little and often and clean as i go especially in the kitchen as i cant face a massive clean up when ive finished eating. my best purchase ever was a dishwasher, replacing my ugly living room carpet this weekend and my bathroom is nearly finished after a year...then im saving up for a bigger fridge freezer lolHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -

It drives me bloody mental! but he cant see what the problem is, I have just finished a 7-3 shift came home and the breakfast dishes are still waiting to be washed.Lewis pyjamas lying on the floor no where hoovered etc etc. I had a major shout when i came in but nobody bothers. im working 8-8 tomorrow then off till next monday. What will my days of be spent doing? Ironing, washing, changing beds etc. Im sick to the back teeth of it! My oh thinks i have ocd but i dont i just like things neat and tidy.I should not spend 4 days off cleaning but i do? oh thinks you can do a house from top to bottom in 3hrs. It always takes me much longer.
Thanks for listening,I feel better already!

As regards cleaning, I too think it can be done in a few hours..
As regards the ironing, don't iron. I don't. For five years I didn't even have an iron.
Get him to put all his 'stuff' together in as many cupboards as it takes and then don't look in them again.
I agree he should help with washing up and hoovering. If he is at home before you, just send him a text asking him to do it before you get home and telling him the time you will be home (some people need this , they don't see the mess and don't realise the time).
You could get a dishwasher though, and a cleaner if you can afford it.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
i normally have a set routine when my girls are at school everything is done for when they get home and i do try to get everything done by 12ish so i can get on with my work. saying that though school holidays it all goes to pot i spend as much time as possible with my girls out and about or indoor/garden activities this is our quality time.i either get what i can done when they are busying themselves and evenings my house is clean and tidy so a little mess i can cope with as my girls are more important.they do do their fair amount though they help with cooking, cleaning, getting washing in they are in charge of their bedroom and are very helpful, they are only 10 and 7 so im very pleased that they help out, also my hubby helps out when possible as he is at work alot of the times and is also busy most evenings, but if something needs doing he will do it which is nice.sunday though nothing gets done apart from basics as it is our family day:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

Before we had a cleaner, we used to share the cleaning. We live in a 2 bed house. One would do upstairs, the other downstairs and then we'd swap the following week which was fair as the downstairs always took a bit longer.
If you both work, then it's only fair that you share the cleaning. If one of you is at home, then I think they should be able to do the cleaning or at least the majority of it (depending on the circumstances of course).
You may think that hubby does not clean as well as you do (Mr 'Missed a bit'), but if you swap the upstairs/downstair, then just relax and be safe in the knowledge that it'll get done properly the following week.... (and bite your lip!)0 -
