Have lots and lots of towels at the ready LW and don't let him out of the bathroom until he has had a good shake, if you want to contain the mess :) I put a towel loosely over pup so she can have a shake into the towel.

Dog bathing is the messiest thing we ever haver to do.

hex and DK, I am doing the opposite tomorrow. lots of relatives coming here for lunch. I think it is better to have them here than for me to travel to them. maybe not as sore as a result. Boys are primed and ready for making a roast lunch tomorrow.

greenbee it sounds like the bathroom is coming along nicely. We have been to the allotment for kale and lettuce today, still no ripe fruit except gooseberries.

We are still working our way through laundry today 5 x WM and 5 x TD plus huge pile of ironing for someone (not me) to do.

TCP and paracetamols decluttered. Meds drawer sorted and old meds ready to take to chemist's tomorrow. More holiday bags unpacked and all laundry now sorted. Only about 3 lots left to do (before I strip the beds).

I might have a power nap before I tackle the next drawer with the lotions and potions.

ETA Tea looks suspiciously like cheese omelette and salad with some French bread for me and OH. Hot dog for DS2 and I'm not sure yet about DS1.

I can't remember who was going to watch the Tattoo this weekend but I hope you had a good time and didn't get too wet.

Bit damp around the edges but it was worth it.

Big ((((hugs)))) to vanilla. Hope today has been better.

    Afternoon all.

It's a decade since I last bathed a dog, and Mr LW has never done it before, so should be fun!!:D

Just a reminder. Remove clothes down to skivvies. CLOSE the door. Remove any nice candles etc that can be destroyed. Plan on twice as many towels as you think you need.

What variety is Ted? If he's a yorkie this might not be necessary :rotfl:

So sad for you reading this Vanilla and I agree with Valli you have made the right decision, his time is not now. Sending strength and love to you and the children.

Back from FiL. I am so not cut out for visiting relatives, it is awful I know but for me the most boring thing ever.

Lacking energy now after sitting in the car/house for hours and hours. Going to have a cuppa and then do HH in the garden dead heading for some fresh air.

JoJo fab news on your win.

Toots you are very quiet, hope you are ok

I've had b-i-law and his OH in York all weekend, though not resident here! They arrived here last night, I fed them, we went to watch DH play cricket...... AND THEN DH WENT TO THE PUB AND LEFT ME WITH HIS RELATIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    DH is currently NOT popular!

  • Hello everyone :hello:
    I am on holiday!!! :j

I managed to clear out the fridge before we left, cleaned out the rabbit, put out recycling & empty the kitchen bin into the garden so it doesn't smell when we get back :)

The place we are staying in is lovely - a rental cottage in a purpose built village in the Cotswold Lakes area. It is a big nature reserve, so it is very countryfied. I can really see the draw of owning a property like this.

We arrived yesterday, unpacked, popped into Cirencester for something to eat & to Mr T's. Today my sister & BIL visited, on their way back home from the Cropredy (sp?) Festival. We went for a walk, and then lunch at a nearby pub. She brought DS's birthday present with her, & we let him open it (a build-your-own engine!). His birthday is 22/8, but she is going to have her op (lumpectomy) on Tuesday, so I thought it would be nice if he opened it now. We won't see her for a while now (they live nr Bradford, & we are in Essex). It was good to see her before the op. She looks well (although hairless!) & is still really positive.

Flying wise - I haven't done much 'cos I am on holiday!! :p
At 1st sight the house looks spotless - but there are so many cobwebs!! It is spider city here! I may have to search out the duster before I leave :o

Hugs & spoons to those that need them, esp Vanilla

3rd and final kitchen drawer is done and i can now close it for the 1st time in years as there isn't loads of stuff jammed behind it. :o

Tea has been decluttered and after this coffee i'm tackling the living room. I hope the packing boxes arrive tomorrow now.
