They can't get jobs because they can't read and write as the government can't be bothered to sort out schools for them.

I'm not sure I'm understanding. No government has spent more than has been spent on this generation of rioters"! And this is the thanks society gets !!!!!!!

It's worrying and seems to me like the riots of the early 80's, not that I remember much about all that just remember seeing it on the news....

Actually loads of them don't want to work, they want to be famous and have loads of money, but not work.
Is it government's problem, a bit, their parents' - hell yeah!

And lots of immigrants work, but I also see lots that don't, they just have too many kids to even bother! Btw, I'm an immigrant, been in this country for a long time and I work and I'm integrated into this society. Even I can see it that there's too much wrong with the system, but more is wrong with the parents!

More money doesn't equal better quality. I volunteer in a school in East London (one of the riot areas) and in Year 6, half the class can barely spell and write. What hope is there?

I can see both sides of the arguments but displacing blame will not solve the problem. Lots and lots of things are wrong.

And many many more of them are bored British youths that have not been taught in proper schools, left in sink hole areas while middle class parents send little jonny and camellia to nice places.

It's the problem when you base a society on a class system. It creates dissent.

They can't get jobs because they can't read and write as the government can't be bothered to sort out schools for them.

Blame immigrants if you must but you're behaving just like them, displacing blame.

That's just knee-jerk liberal nonsense. Pointing out the fact that Somalians are disproportionately involved in violent crime does not exonerate the white 'yoof' wannabes, who are just as bad.

What might be more useful would be to consider why our schools are so useless. And an objective observer would be hard-pressed not to conclude that it isn't lack of government will that is the problem, but the total annexation of educational policy by the liberal 'elite' that is to blame.

Those fruit machines have an awful lot in them. Although, someone was trying to wrench the flat screen TV off the wall from Ladbrokes and it remained firm.

That telly was put up properly.

I was brought up in inner London and currently have family being educated in the same area as where some of the looters are.

I know from previous serious events some of the little s***s go to the same schools myself and the rest of my family were and are being educated at.

If they can't read and write then they are obviously not attending or bothered to attend school, as even the younger members of my families friends' who aren't as bright can read and write.

Oh I agree! People in the the 80s were "unemployed" ie they wanted to work, could work and were caplable of working - these youths are unemployable!
