Yes...
Not sure about the Rosie Winterton or Barry Cockroft signatures though!!!!!How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Thanks, Toothsmith. I've signed too. The nearest NHS dentist at the moment to take on new patients is 144mls away, which is only just outside our boundary for my local area.
If you know what I mean."If at first you don't succeed, then don't try parachuting........."0 -

hmmn - I got registered with anew dentist quite esily here, my original dentist decided to go completely private because most of his patients - so he said- wanted cosmetic dentistry too.
I dont - I never have treatment, and the only things I had done was a scal and polish every year.
I changed all the famille ( 5 at home still) and it was not bother. Theyre a new and enthustatic practice, and better stil I know in advance how much things are going to cost me.
I think for some consumers the new contract will be better = I now pay less than I did.
I also think some dentists are greedy = sorry to offend -= but my old practice wanted me to spend £15 per month insurance for each of us (£90 per month!!!) just for very basic cover - 2 checkup and a dental hygienist per year. It didnt pay out for treatment, emergency treatment - that was all on top!!!!
I said GET STUFFED - I already pay for it in my tax and NI why should I pay extra insurance and get nothing back ( havent had work done in 23 years apart from clean and polish). but so many were frightened into paying up.
just food for thought. feel free to shoot me down in flames,
but also check NHS site to see who's taking on nhs patients in your area ( its online) and ring them all to check.

Give it a year or two and see what it's like then.
Just remember, us greedy dentists have been trying to do something about it for years.
But so long as you're all right...How to find a dentist.

Have just signed up.
My middle child had to have 4 teeth removed a couple of years back as we could not get a dentist. I did take him to the emergency dental clinic - what a battle to even get an appointment. Every time we went she declaired he needed nothing doing and teeth were fine. I knew otherwise.
When we eventually got him into a propert dentist - over 2 years it took!! They looked at me like a piece of dirt and announced he needed to go to the hospital and get them removed. This was only what I had been telling them - he needed a dentist - every time I phoned over two years to see when we could join them .
Absolutely mad about it all still. Boiling inside.....0 -

I didn't set up the dentistry one, but if you go to the Petitions website, it is fairly straightforward to set one up.
There are some wierd and whacky ones as well.
