The first anniversary of the government's reforms of dental services is marked by two critical surveys.

Sorry that was the earlier version, this is the one with the Minister's reply.
Two surveys into the state of dental services suggest that last year's government reforms have failed both patients and dentists. Hear our interview with Health Minister Rosie Winterton.

I was listening to the Minister, and thinking that if Toothsmith was listening he'd be shouting at the radio! What a load of whitewash - to suggest that somehow a dentist can 'plan' their work so well that they don't use their last UDA 'point' until 31 March ... If a patient needs treatment, they need it now not when the dentist can 'afford' to give it!
Signature removed for peace of mind

Just heard her on Jeremy Vine.

    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

This is a post of mine from over a year ago.

The whole thread is well worth a read as well.

The prices aren't quite right, as it was written before everything was set in stone.
