I've collected some of those sticky bugs that charities often hand out. There they balls or fluff with goggle eyes and big sticky feet

I have been into Boots today after a tip on the Boots Grabbit thread. All Christmas stock was still marked at 75% off but scanned at 90% off.
I bought some Zoo Crew purses down from £5 to 50p, Gift wrap from £2.99 to 29p and lots of other bargains.

I nipped into Claires too. The salestock is now 15 items for £5. I bought 15 packs of hair accessories originally prices at £2.99 each for my fiver!

I have been to Stationary box today and amongst their clearance bargains were blue-boxed geometry sets priced 49p down from £1. They also had a 30% off sticker on and though the till did not recognise this I asked the assistant to override it and apply the discount. The sets ended up costing 34p each.
I also picked up some packs of small lined notebooks at 5 for 49p whick I will split for 1 per box.

Tesco's had quite a few clearance lines today. I bought some packs of 5 tea towels at £1. I will split the packs and just put a couple in each box.
  • I just brought some brown knitted hats from tesco for 10p each!!! They're lined too with fleece so really cosy..... uummm was a bit greedy though and brought 20 which totalled to the grand sum of £2 :)
At that price I'll just add to the boxes I collect from others.

Thats a good buy SallySavings :T I had a look in our local Tesco today but there were none there

I did find a few good buys in Sainsburies though:

Children's navy blue fleece hats for 30p they were £1; and baby 'pop ons' (little booties) for 60p a pair down from £2.50.

Tescos have reduced some of the 'pocket money' range of toys, the ones that are usually 99p each and stacked in white cardboard boxes. They are also on buy one get one free.
I bought some flourescent plastic 'melody flutes' (recorders) that had been marked down to 50p so they worked out at 25p each.

I pity the poor parent of any child who recieves one of my boxes :rotfl:

Ikea had reels of cotton for 1p each today; I bought some for my 'family' boxes and will put a needle in each one. (They have large packs of needles at the £1 shop)
Ikea also had soft toys at 49p each; I didn't get any as I have already bought enough in Tesco's sale.
Remember some of the boxes stipulate 'no sharp objects'

Thanks morganb. I hadn't thought of that and certainly wouldn't advocate anybody putting them in the boxes for children.

I am making family boxes to send via http://www.linkromania.co.uk they suggest that the boxes include razors and scissors so I don't think a few needles will cause any problems.
