    if in doubt, do nowt, the trouble with pc,s , it niggles at you until you decide to say, s-d it, and take the chance, and hope for the best. At least I do. I,ll leave it until I cannot get it out of my head. reckon that won,t be long knowing me.:beer:

    Good for you, I,ve just clicked on cc,s uninstal, which I presume was put on with new download and alas, windows cannot locate the shortcut to do it, do I want to browse myself.I knew the file was corrupted somehow.How to remove now is the thing.I couldn,t resist it.probably ironed it out now, any ideas?

    Just tried to re-download again from filehippo instead of piriform, hoping it would overwrite existing one.Same problem, goes so far then sticks, aborted yet again with on/off button. What if I try going back to restore point, not forgetting I have run new version on registry and saved backup ???windows couldn,t find uninstal, because file was corrupted before it was installed I presume

    Hi, Sorted it.did restore+backup, using 3.08 version again and it,s back in control panel. I,m leaving 3.09 version off, first attempt at restore failed after 4 hours, second took 2 minutes. 3.09 must have corrupted several files. "all,s well that ends well.". cheers all , thanks for all advice given, gratefully received:beer:
