re-c-cleaner regisrty back ups

Hi, Just updated my c-cleaner to 3.09 , had a hell of a game.It was taking ages to download, resulting in my aborting it 4 times by using pc off button.wouldn,t even uninstall using it,s own uninstaller, ages again.However, it seems to have somehow done it without telling me it was successful.I have ran it , and it seems ok." problems though. 1. It hasn,t registered in my list of installed programs in control panel.and 2. how do I delete old back ups of registry cleaner.There are several saved now. some say they cannot be found.when trying to delete them.even old 3.08 exe file.s. instal. Is it safe to delete all but the latest couple after cleaning reg.?any advice would be most grateful

the new install should just over-write the previous; this sounds like a corrupted install perhaps; try removing entirely with revo uninstaller , then reboot and then install once again from scratch.

Hi, Thanks, downloaded it, but c-cleaner is not showing it, as I said, it,s not in Add/remove progams, although it,s on pc.

Click start, computer, click the main hard drive, click programme files, is there a folder for CCleaner there. If you have a desktop icon and click it, does it say no programme associated? If so, right click the icon and click delete

Run Revo and look for CCleaner, or did you mean ccleaner is not showing in it (revo)?

Once you get CCleaner removed, my preference is for the slim build, scroll down, it does not try to add toolbars etc

Hi, The file for the new version is installed with icon and uninstaller.I,ve used it.BUT,it,s not in control panel programs, and typing search in revo says no program found.+ it,s not showing it

Revo would should it in its main panel

Maybe run the installer for CCleaner again, though if it runs, not having it in control panel isn't a problem

They would give you the definitive solution here

It is installed and running ok, but not registered in control panel. when I tried originanally to update, it was taking 15 minutes before I aborted it 4 times, same with their uninstaller.I used control panel uninstaller at the end but was never told it was successful.only when I rebooted did I find it had loaded ok, but not in control, which as you say ,is no big deal, unless I want to remove it, then I cannot, it,s not showing, not in revo either. Why revo is not locating it i,ve no idea.thanks for the other link:beer:

update, apparently it,s not just me, it,s causing agro on piriform forum also, so beware if you update to new version. nothing definitive on their forum as to why.

Was just going to post about that, if they don't know, how should the rest of us??

Have you clicked on any of the old versions here, hopefully they will overwrite the version installed
