Ah thanks Igamogam, you posting feels like a hug and thats just what i need. The fleece thing is off the preparing for winter thread. You get cheap fleeces (ikea for me) and pin them to your existing curtains creating a super cheap solution to draughts. The added bonus to mine, i got the black ones, is that they have acted as a blackout lining of sorts as well and I had a lie in this morning as the light didnt wake me. The fleeces I got were these
£2.89. Not the cheapest but wanted the black as thats what colour my curtains are in the bedroom. See the scalloped edge? well i just snipped them down to make a 'fringe' and tied them to the curtain rings, worked really well and so quick and easy.
The white ones already have a fringe
and if you can find a way of attaching them, these are only £1.59

Bog roll update, 16.5 rolls took 7 weeks, so 2.35 rolls a week. I don't think thats bad at all and I'm pleasantly surprised. I did fail with the not buying any until i'd used what I had though, too many good offers around, I now have 52 rolls to go at and my rough calculations work that out at 22 weeks, yay.

have been thinking about why i have neglected my diary and can only conclude that it was because i thought it was boring for people to read but i have just realised that i do want to use it regardless so apologies from here on in if the zzzzz's set in.
I have also thought of a name now and my resurrected diary will now be called 'The Dumping Ground' because thats exactly what i need it to be, somewhere to pop my pap for future reference.
Today i had my first jog/power walk/coronory and did 2.25km in 19 mins. dont need this to be good or anything just the fact that i got out and did it is enough. Came home and stuck Davina on, body buff, did 20 mins legs & core, 15 min arms with weights, 10 mins abs, 5 min cool down and 5 min yoga. I am cream crackered. Just ran a bath and have eaten a banana and a bowl of uncooked oats with semi skimmed milk.
Going to boots tomorrow to get weighed and get myself an exercise mat.

Hello my diary, stuck at home today after coming home and being violently sick yesterday, feel like ive been kicked in the stomach by a horse.
Feel like i should get up and tidy up / do some housework but haven't got the energy. I get paid on Friday so may just get my sums sorted for then.
I want to say that since i started my money saving journey the most humbling thing is getting a 0% balance transfer with Barclays, in times where its all about making money the fact that i will not have to pay anything in interest to get my balance to zero gives me a warm feeling. I can say this because i know catagorically that i will never use the card for anything else. Cant wait to hammer the balance down.
Right, off to see if i can keep some breakfast down, bye bye for now.Littlewoods £10 Very BNPL £234.42

I've been batch cooking today and have a beef casserole still in the slow cooker, the worlds longest chilli beef in a apn on the hob (dont think i'll buy frozen diced beef again, its a bit bad when I'D drop off a fork but the beef is as tough as old boots lol)
also made coq au vin
paprika chicken
2 cottage pies
2 lasagnes
bacon and sweetcorn pasta bake
6 chicken and leek pasties
chicken and leek pasta bake
peanut butter flapjacks (left them in too long but still edible)
(made my own sauces for lasagnes and pasta bakes)
be prepared
make it meaty
nearly done
you're gonna get it
its getting hot in here..
they think its all over
it is now

Have just started reading frugalincornwall and love it, listened in to radio cornwall last week and it was lovely to put a voice to the writing.
My frugalness today consists of

so thats 3 x bacon sarnies for tea and 3 x best beef sarnies in the lunchbags for tomorrow for a grand total of £1.17
I also got my fabric softener for £1 with a coupon and a 200ml of herbal essences shampoo for zilch as it was on offer for £1 and I had a £1 coupon.
Today I sold 2 of my daughters party dresses for £20 and bought her a new one for £22, £2 cost to me.
She needed shoes and tights too and I had a £10 off a £30 @ Tesco Home so I got the Lego Friends set she has on her Christmas list, that was £29.97, shoes were reduced to £6 and tights were £3.50 so basically I got those for free for buying something I was going to anyway.
I had a conversation with my daughter today and said how much better off she was going to be when she is older just by knowing what I do now and that is to be money/price/offer conscious. I wish it hadnt took me so long but now i've got it there isn't no going back.
I'll post soon although not sure anyone reads lol.Littlewoods £10 Very BNPL £234.42

Hi Betty!
I have no idea how, but I've never even seen your diary before! I didn't even think you had one!
You are doing great with your bargains and batch cooking, but I have to agree that more importantly you are doing great at teaching your DD how to live frugally.
Keep it up!

Just finished doing some preliminary budget planning for next year so I have a bit of a heads up as to where i'll be financially as I really would like a holiday, looks very doable but we'll see.
Going to sort out lunch in a mo and pop another wash on then MIGHT tackle the christmas tree. I got all the decs down from the loft yesterday and pulled a muscle getting down so shoulder and neck are a bit stiff and painfull, i've got the ironing to contend with too.
Cleared a bag of stuff ready for charity shop yesterday and still have daughters room to do, I fear there may be lots as i'm sick of little 'ebay piles' all over the house and think i just want to get rid and have a clean slate for 2013, plus charity benefits that way.
I putting my son's board up in Jan as it shouldnt be just me that takes the hit on increasing bills and he is fine with that, good life lesson for him me thinks. I have explained Its not like its going in my pocket so has not been done out of greed.
Right gonna get a wriggle on, bye.Littlewoods £10 Very BNPL £234.42
