  • Got milk, the evening paper (its jobs day and there's no harm in looking) and oven chips today £2.79. I got the value chips because I was reading the value products thread the other evening and reckoned it couldn't hurt to try and if they're pants then my curiosity would be satisfied. They were from Co op and I must say I am pleasantly suprised, dont have chips that often so I can live with these an sooo much cheaper than the others.

Re the Santander car insurance farce, they only had the audacity to try and take the direct debit out, i say try because i had emptied the account so incurred a £25 overdrawn charge. Took 4 hrs yesterday to sort it out, no way was I paying that. The joke is i'm waiting to close my Santander account and the reason i'm waiting? Because the transfer ive made to empty the account to close it they have 'lost', have to wait til Friday to see if it 'bounces' back to my account.

When the money reaches somewhere i can overpay yay.

Hello peeps, my transfer hit and on Friday I had £280 to throw at the cc, which was left from wages and the money I've made on ebay, however life has a tendancy to know when you've got pennies and decide its hungry grrr.
    Driving licence photocard expired £20
    Send it recorded £5.45
Car insurance claiming proof of no claims not received...
    2nd Proof sent recorded £5.45
Need oil for the car, have nooo idea how much that is going to cost but will find out tomorrow.
I've decided I need a back up fund, god forbid something came up and I've thrown every penny at the cc and cut it up so wouldnt even be able to use it in an emergency, so the £200 is going on it and whats left from the £80 is the start of my new emergency fund.
Its funny how much consideration i'm putting into saving it when I gave none to spending it :o
Right back in a bit when ive got something to stick in the pad thread :)

  • Evening all, well I paid £200 extra on the cc the other day like I said, yippe. Bonus came through at work and I have decided to be un mse and buy a frock, have got a do coming up and fancied a treat (old habits die hard) i will make sure I ebay to the same value and then overpay something.

Grocery spending is going brilliantly alongside the menu planning and we're not going without.

4 no spend days this week.

Not sure what kind of dint I can make next pay day as I've got my little one's bday party coming up, its her first (party not bday). On the plus side the hall is already paid for. She is so excited about it I cant wait either.

  • Hola. A mixed week for me, lost my way a bit last weekend not detrimental but i felt i had let myself down, thats what you get for carrying your card on you (debit that is). On the plus side I have achieved so much this week.
*Warning, the below contains seriously nerdy stuff haha*
    After reading the getting ready for winter thread;
I have corralled all throws and blankets and laundered them, just need to find a pretty box/basket to pop them in as they are going to be used in multiple rooms, I want to be able to fold them up and put them back in one place when not in use.
I have dug out a huge box of candles and dispensed several bunches around the house in case of power cuts, I have put lighters with them for now but need to get some matches and then just go over the safety side of it with my daughter again.
I got 2 electric blankets thanks to a post on HUKD.
Have stocked up on anti-freeze and de icer and its in the car along with a throw and our warmest coats. I have a 'to get' list also and that includes a torch, sim and top up for one of the unused mobiles in the house (to keep in the glove box) drinks and some cereal bars. Going to get a few more throws when I go to Ikea next.

My menu planning is going great however I felt the cupboards and fridge could do with a rejig. I read a blog called Iheartorganising and Jen on there is an inspiration and I think some has rubbed off onto me. So as a rule my freezer and cupboards have all the items grouped, like all meat in one drawer, bread stuff in another etc. Now I have sectioned the bottom shelf in the cupboard into 4 and each contains everything needed for that weeks plan, I have done the same with the freezer drawers, it is going to make it so much easier to find what I need. All overs are on top shelf/bottom drawer and I have a list that will be the start of the next 4 weeks menu plan (told you it was going to be nerdy).

My mission is to streamline the whole house a bit at a time and make it really work efficiently for me.

I have had lots of NSD's and will update that.

Went coupon shopping on Friday. Sat the night before working out which supermarket was cheapest for each item as I have to pass them all to get to T***o which is where I normally shop.
My best deals were Mccain oven chips from Sains, 50p with coup.
2x Lenor Free with 2 x £1 coupons A*** (going to see if it'll let me print some more) and 50p antibac spray A***. Oh and the kids chocolate oats so, £1 for a 10 sachet box T****.
All coupons were thanks to thread on here.

Right I think thats enough waffling for one day. Iheart this site, it gave me that final push to make a wholehearted effort with everything, thank you. Oh and check that blog out if you get chance its a nice read.

  • Oh dear, I have just lifted my head from the shame in which it was hanging.
Hello, my name is Betty Crumble and I fell off the wagon.
*dusts herself off and says sorry*
I paid my bills I just didnt throw the extra at anything and to make matters worse I also added to Littlewood and used my Next account again grrrr. I will update with the damage tomorrow.

On the plus side I luuuurve my menu plans and always stick to my £25 a week budget, its great, I hardly ever throw anything away and i'm not constantly thinking of what to cook/eat. I'm a coupon ho and its the cheapest thrill you can ever have, i love it when the item ends up at 0, nil, nada, zilch.

So much love going out to the member on here who came up with the Ikea fleeces as curtain lining idea, bedroom done and so quick and easy, living room next. Going to make door curtains at the weekend and a draught sausage.

Last week I sorted out the boot of the car and after everything was 'tubbed' up I realised that listening to stuff clank against plastic would drive me crackers so I stuffed some cloths in between and that made it look pants so I took the lot back out. While i was at ikea for the throws I saw these drona-box__0118653_PE274585_S4.JPGand 3 fit in my boot like a glove (as do my gloves :-)) no more clanking and easily collapsable if needs be, i am loving my boot and will post a picture tomorrow as i'm sad like that hehehe.

    Hope everyone is fairing well.
